Default Zenoah G45 question

Could anyone with a Zenoah G45 please tell me the distance between the center of the crank and the top of the cylinder,
and the distance between the crank and the top of the spark plug boot.

Thanks,
Curt

Hi Curt,

Just happened to have one sitting on the bench.

The distance from crank center to top of cylinder is 4-3/8" and crank center to top of plug boot is about 5-1/4"

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I have a KMP FW-190 that I am having a hard time trying to decide on a motor.
A BCMA 26 will fit perfect but it really doesnt weigh anything close to what I need to balance this plane. The g45 is way overkill
but it will spin a scale prop and it will almost perfectly balance out the plane. So I am down to two options. Either use the smaller motor
and use almost 2.5 lbs lead or use the big motor and cut a little bit of the bottom of the cowl out. My cowl diameter is almost 9 inches so I have
almost 4.5 inches to work with.

Warbird,

Would it be possible for you to post a front view picture of it so I can see if the carb and muffler will fit.
Thanks,
Curt

Thanks again

DVS1,

I already took the pic so here it is anyway. With a 9'' cowl the bottom of the carb will stick out abit along with the plug boot and alittle of the cylinder head. I don't have the big bulky muffler anymore, but that would not fit in the cowl anyway. A B&B would probably work.
You might consider a G38 or a ZDZ 40RE with rear exhaust?

Good luck

Thanks for the pic and your right the carb and definately the whole plug boot would stick out. The G38 would be even worse because it has a taller
cylinder head than the G45 (at least according to the specs and the pics I have seen.) So at this point I am back to where I started which is nowhere. [sm=72_72.gif]
