Default Yellow Aircraft A6M5 Zero

Here is where I am at on my Zero. If anyone would like to chime in on how this ship flies, feel free to let me know. I am at 21 Lbs right now. Fuji 50 SB, Futaba Rx and Tx, a mix of Futaba and Hi-tech servos. Any advice on final balance. The book say's five inches from the leading edge. I have to finish up the ballast box, the canopy, and get the tail painted. then the knee knocking starts.....

Regards,
Flakbait.

Nice looking Zero!

I had a Yellow Zero, was one of my favorite warbirds. Had a Brison 3.2 in it .. went like heck! Easy to fly .. just keep the speed up on landings till you feel dialed in .. mine would drop a wing if it got too slow (as most planes will!) .. you will love it. I had mine balanced per the factory spec and it was fine.

mine weighed in around 23 + pounds, they fly great. The yellow gear have a tendency to fail above fork. Use flaps for landing. Where did you get that spinner?

Static spinner and prop from Yellow Aircraft. The flying spinner is also from Yellow Aircraft.

Here are a few shots of Rick Jacob's A6M5c witha G-45 at 23 lbs. He balanced per plans. I fly it and it tracks very well but will ballon with flaps added. Keep the speed up during approaches.

sorry to gate crash chaps....but while i've been waiting for my corsair parts to arrive been at the zero again...yellow aircraft...will be powered by a laser V300 twin.......built most of it about 18 months ago...been doing other projects.....just been adding some detail to the wings etc...also worked on some cockpit parts.....added a mid fuz fuel tank...the type A6M5c rarely had this type of tank but i liked it so it's staying...most of the panels are made from litho plate, silver backed foil tape..things you can get hold of easily.....the retract doors will be next to finish and then i can start back on with the fuz....

You might email Chuck from Warbirdcolors.com. He has/had samples of chips that match his paint. The chips are all color matched to credible sources. Also Frank Tiano sells a book with AMA approved color chips.
