WWI SE 5
I am restoring an older model of the SE 5 and was wondeirng if anyone knew what the CG was or if they knew of a manufacturer that kitted a 48" WS? It's a 40 size I imagine but I don't have any kit markings or name. The formers have part or assembly numbers so that is what makes me think it's someone's kit. Any information would be great. CG is most important.

I don't know the kit but you can figure the CG pretty easy.. measure from the FRONT of the leading edge of the TOP wing to the TRAILING EDGE of the BOTTOM wing. This measurement is the MAC (mean aerodynamic chord) Then take 25% of that figure and that'll be a good place for a starting CG.

RE: WWI SE 5
You are taking BOTH wings into consideration when you measure them both.. Remember you are measuring from the leading edge of the TOP wing to the trailing edge of the BOTTOM wing. This gives the width of BOTH wings.treating them like one very wide wing. 25 to 33 percent is probably the average cg. The full scale SE5a has 5 degrees of dihedral and 5 degrees of positive incedence.
