Sorry OP to mini-hijack, but im re-furb'n my recently acquired Byron Cors...regarding the Robart retract users, mine still has a clear coke bottle for a air tank, its still tight(no leaks), but what air tank(s) are the majority of you installing? Single Robart large? Actuators/valve lube?

I've replaced the coke bottle with a single large Robart tank in one of mine and its been working fine over 150+ cycles and 50+ flights (I like doing touch & go's with my Corsair!)

You might check with Earl Aune at Oregon Scale Aviation for scale retract tailwheels for both the Corsair and Hellcat. I did not see them on the web site but I know he was producing them within the last few months.

Default Byrons Corsair- Partially Built- Need Advise

My father has a Byrons Corsair has been building very slowly for the past 20 years. Has is now unable to complete the plane due to severe health issues. I would like to help him sell the plane, but need advise on if there is a market for the plane, how and where is the best plane to advertise it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I would post it for sale here in the warbird section. list all you have with it as well as some pics if you can. generally , depending on what's with it and the quality of the build they average 1,000 and up . given the age of the stuff you have , you most likely won't see that much .

It is against RCU policies to post items for sale in the forums. If you post it here, they may remove it. RCU DOES however have a "Market Place", where people can post thier items for sale, and at mo cost to the seller or buyer (FREE!!!): http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/sell-1.cfm

I would suggest tho that you begin by posting pictures, as many as you can, showing what is included with it, general condition, details of the build, and what it might need. The people in this forum can then help you to suggest a starting price. It can be difficult to ship (and expensive), so you may need to specify that it it need to be picked up and/ or you could deliver and/ or meet halfway a specified distance.

Hello fellow Corsair builders, I am in need of the foam cores for the Byron Corsair horizontal stab, I bought a kit that had been started and just got around to the stabs and they are warped with real thin sheet and no foam core. Appreciate any help you can give, and I apologize if this is a mini-hack...........................................but I am desperate....

Well guys the corsair build comes to a close. today i flew her for the first time. It flew absolutely beautiful . It showed no bad habits at all. Dropped the flaps and gear with no pitch change at all. Rock solid approach and landing . she's a thing of beauty in the air .. a true thoroughbred . Friend did his best to get some shots so they what they are. i'm happy to have them.

I've got one, and like so many other kits I bought years ago: just sitting in (finished/ heated) basement collecting dust. Not NIB, but not really started yet either. Missing stab, but otherwise complete. Also have spare parts (cowls, canopies), cockpit kit, compete Robart retracts and air kit for it, and Saito 300 twin (NIB). If I sell the Corsair, it would only be a package deal, as I have no use for any of the other items if I sell it. Of course, the biggest problem would be shipping. Also, I would NOT be interested in any trades, except maybe for (full scale) '68 Hemi 'Cuda, or ultralight aircraft. In other words, I would be doing this strictly to reduce my R/C inventory, and this Corsair is really probably the one I would least like to 'unload' (also have KMP P-38, Hangar 9 B-25 in giant scale)

Hello,

I have a Byron Corsair that I have inherited. It was mostly finished but has some damage to it while in storage. I was hoping someone might be able to spare a copy or a scan of the instruction book to help me with it's rehabilitation? I will pay for all your expenses.

Thanks for considering helping me.

well heck, where have you guys been hiding these beauties. The biggest problem has been shipping. I am out in Cali for a few months and was hopeing that I may find one out here. The planes in Kansas and Michigan are a quick drive if necessary. How much are you guys asking?
