RE: Little Buckaroo Nose Art P38
Hi Nigel,
That looks great,I have got to get back onto her soon, but I'm getting carried away on the 38.
Nigel thank you for all your hard work on Anni-Mo,did you find any more pics on the other badges and markngs for Anni.
Nigel I will get the paint off to you as soon as, I have got the paint out now as I got board with doing those rivets and the nose cone was done so!!!!!!!!!
Here are some pics but I forgot to take a pic of her in the gloss black,it looked very cool and I was thinking of an all black P38
Cheers Graham

RE: Little Buckaroo Nose Art P38
Thanks Graham. I will return to Little Buckaroo now and finish drawing it up. I think I will make a test plate up to see how it works out with the silver paint to see if there is a chance of making it work.
Let me know when you post the paint.
I can see you have been getting carried away with yourself on the P38. Riveting was a long testing job on the 1/6 Spitfire for me, so the P38 must be a real tester

RE: Little Buckaroo Nose Art P38
Hi Nigel,
I had an idea and that hurt, what about if I trace the outline of the nose section and then coppy this onto some plasti card and then I can paint this in the same way I have done for the P38,this will also give you the correct size for the decal placment.
Hi Dave,
Sorry I missed out last night on the Factory, been busy spraying the P38 with black gloss,I have just been using the stuff from the spray can, I then flattened it all back, this works well as it shows up all the little imperfections.
The centre section should be ready to come down to the Factory next week, then the fun begins.
Hi Kelly,
Regrding the black base cote, this gives the chrome it's depth and if you use gloss black or any dark gloss this will give it a higher reflective shine.
I will also use on certain panels some dark blue gloss and even a dark green,it sounds strange but the effect is very good.
Here are some pics of the center section in gloss black and you can also see where I have flattedened back, the rivets look big in these pics but they are not,it's just the high spot arround them after flattening back,I have also redone the nose cone as there were a few small imperfections on it, as I have said all along the chrome shows up every mark,so the prep work has to be spott on.
Cheers Graham.

RE: Little Buckaroo Nose Art P38
Graham. That sounds a good idea. I will be finishing the nose art this week so we can see how best to play it. But I really do believe several paint masks will give a better result compared to the dry rub decals for little buck. Annie-Mo is different and I think will need to be dry rub because of the small detail. I’ll run some tests towards the back end of next week. It's all new nose art and I am feeling my way slowly.
Paint masks are selling well though, starting to get some references working too )
Your riveting is certainly impressive I must say. I do think it makes the model don't you?

Hi Nigel,
How are things going, yes the paint mask sounds good, let me know what you think s best,I have also been looking at another scheme,Happy Jack's Go Buggy, might do this one for the bigger P38 or the other way round, the Go Buggy scheme should be straight forward to doo regarding decals and paint mask, again let me know your thoughts on this.
All the rivets and flattening back are now done on the center section and outer wing panels, just got the two booms, two cowls and stab to rivet now,oh joy!!!!![&o][&o]
Cheers Graham.

RE: Little Buckaroo Nose Art P38
I will have the sample image for the end of the weekend Graham.
I am going to test the mask system first myself.
I will be needing some idea of size when I show you the image to run the test!

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your words of encouragment, it has taken a while to bring her up ,and as you said , yes she was a bit ruff around the gills , she was just crying out for a bit of TLC.
Yes I'm itching to get her all back together and have her sitting on the end of the Runway ready for the Off.
The Hawk is looking really cool, when do you think you will have her done, did the decals turn up from Taylor made!!!!
Cheers Graham.

RE: Little Buckaroo Nose Art P38
achilles, Graham has a computer issue at the moment and can't connect to the internet. The black paint is German product called "Lasonal" You can Google the name to find them.
While I am here, Graham has finished the nose art on the P38 so here is the final result.
The image was created with a combination of paint mask and a level or artistic licence by Graham to finish the grass and the "flashes" around the swastika.
