Mine too, plus she would make sure she got the plane in the settlement, just to spite me..... Along with half my retirement, the house, car and most likely my Harley, the last to make sure that with no planes or motorcycle, I truely would be miserable.......[:@]

says the person that doesnt know how many planes and how much money some of us have ALREADY invested in model aircraft.

In any event...this Corsair looks nice. If I could convince her(wont happen), Id put a moki 5cyl in it.

I want one but hmmm .....if I put it in my work area I'd have to remove the table and me. Kinda like building a Corsair in a bottle. It'd be awsom with a Moki radial in it.

Nice, how'd you get it here from the U.K.? Or is it from a different Tiger? Did you see the working machine guns?

I had the same problem so I did some investigating. Not a wealth of information though.

Hi Rack,
Thanks for posting, your Corsa is looking real good and I have also went the same way as you with engine, fits like a glove and no sticky outy plugs!!!.

The XXL is produced by Willi schachermayer in Germany and are only made to order which normally takes around 6-8 weeks from placement.
The kit is classified as an ARTF but still needs some work on the install,or if you are like me,mad for scale, this is a perfect canvas.
Willi is now producing mark 4 cowls and I have made a new form for the Canopy's witch are bulged at the sides so they can be used for the mark 4 and 5.

I will post up more info on here if you are interested or please use this email to get in touch as the Tiger mail is still down.
[email protected]
Willi has 2 XXL's in stock and ready for some lucky guys.

I'm going to post up all the pics I have got so enjoy

Cheers Graham

Hi Rack,
What can I say!!! Willi is not geared up yet to mass produce and will not ship out of Germany so I have to go and pick up in Germany direct,he is happy in what he producing and is ticking over nicely,I can't force him to mass produce and it's not through the lack of trying,as I have told him he is onto a winner with the XXL.
So for now it's the lucky guys like yourself that have got such a beautie.

More info on the 500 pounders please.

Cheers Graham.

do you think willi would sell a mold or alow me to copy one of his planes? it would be alot cheaper to produce them here than to import, hows he doing with the lighting? im in the begining stages of a 200 inch im trying to keep it under 100lbs ,thats going to be a tough nut i gave darel (siera) one of those bomb realeases i think hes going to do some thing with it, the bombs i make are more for show they work great but tend to break up after a couple of drops they bury in about 4inches in soft ground , i get 100 dollars each for these they are totaly done, thanks Vern

Rack,

I'm building a Don Smith 1/4 scale Corsair and it is 120". When I looked at the Tiger Models Corsair info it said it was 120.8" Did they increase the wing span? Also are they putting flaps on theirs yet? I opted to build rather than go comosite just because I'm old fashioned and wanted flaps and to be able to add more scale as I build. What size is your 3W engine your running? I put a 3W 200cc in mine with a Solo 32" 3 bladed prop. I only have about 1/8" clearence on each side before it hits the cowling. I like your plane but I noticed some scale issues with it. Is that the only Canopy they sell? I also like that you put gear doors on yours. In the info I saw it didn't have any. Anyway it's a sweet looking Corsair and when you build that 200" I will want to see that one for sure.

Hi Vern,

I think the answer to your question would be a very big NO!!!! for copying the XXL over in the US, but you could try him but I think I know what the answer would be.
Vern, I think you one of the first kits from Willi as the new kits are ever so light for there size, recommended flying weight is around the 24kg

I have been looking into all different ways of getting the XXL over to you all ,for a single XXL in a Crate of 7ft x3ft x3ft works out at around the £450.00 mark to the US,but I could ship out two XXL kits in one larger crate the shipping would be around the £600.00 mark, and so it goes on.
The other killer is the exchange rate at the moment, and the EURO is very high against the pound so we are all loosing.

Here are some pics of the progress of my own XXL,Just got some of the build Passed by our good old LMA, so it wont be long now,got to get here ready for our big shows coming up.
I have attached some pics of the new Canopies I have made, these are for the mk4 to the mk5 with flat screen and bulged sides, looks so much better than the canopy that comes with the kit.

Cheers Graham.
