Hello hi flyr,
Both me and my buddy fly ours with Saito 150's and they screem. His weights a bit less then mine but for some resone mine is faster and needs a 17-8 prop or it will over rev and float the valves. WE fly them at about 3/4 throttle and have that little extra for the big loops.

Its a good idea to make tracings of the die cut parts you might need them someday. It would also be good to have an inventory of all the wood. I hope to build one from scratch but I have one idea how much wood to get or the sizes.

Wow, talk about a builders kit. The manual isn't much help, it's more of a guide. Actually it isn't even like the other Dynaflite manuals I've had. It's just 6 pages of directions and a couple drawings. Not a big deal, I'll manage. None of the wood matches the plans, I think my plans are copies of the originals. The die cut pieces were horrible to to punch out. I've got the tail feathers built and started on the fuse this evening. I'm still glad I'm building this plane and I know it will turn out very nice. I have a NIB Dynaflite Giant scale Spitfire with a matching set of Centure Jet retracts with the complete Air Kit. The retracts are for this kit. The kit is still packed from the factory and I have only opened the plan set for a peak at the possibilities. I have one in my hanger right now with a Super Tiger 3000 in it and it flies really well. It's a real floater and some day I'm going to add a nice set of split flaps to slow it down for landings. If any of you are interested in the kit and retracts just PM me and I can get you some pictures of what I have. Everything is new and nothing has been assembled in the kit. The canopy is still wrapped in tissue. Thanks

Hy Flyr -

You maybe glad your building the plane, But if you want it to turn out Nice? Have your wife build it - I've seen your planes..
Or get a heli, warbirds are overrated....

Just kidding...
Makes me want another Spitfire. Awesome planes, and yes the 1.20 would work. Better sounding as well - Keep it more scale and throw a kelio exhaust on it as well.

It would be helpful if you could post some pictures of your build. I would like to build one of these someday but I don't have the kit. I do have the die cut parts, plans, manual and canopy.

Thanks

Howdy Kenair,

I saw that a group of you have the Dynaflite 81" Spit. I don't know if anyone may still have the plans to this one but if you do, I could use some help. I bought one of these 81" Spits back in 1995 and started the fuse. I was racing Giant Scale and it took most of my free time and then some. I stopped the Spit vowing to finish it someday. I have moved more times then I want to remember and the plans have now been lost.... Well to make a long story longer, my 8 year old son and I were going through my pile of kits looking for a warbird and he pulled the Spit out of the pile. I would be glad to make it worth your time if you still have your plans to make me a copy in order that I can then finish this Spit for my son. Thanx in advance for any help.

Regards,

Joe

Hey Jack,

I found your post from Dec. I was wondering if you still have your Dynaflite 81" Spit, and is it for sale? If yes is the answer to both questions, that just let me know I am interested.

Regards,

Joe

Hey Steve,

Thanx for the response. I have sent snail mail asking if they still could do copies, but no response from them as of yet. Mailed it out about a month ago. Do you think I should wait a bit longer for a response? I am so used to hearing back from businesses almost overnight because of the NET so I may be squeezing the trigger a little early on this one. Anyway I do appreciate the come back. I have a UAV conversion going on right now that is going to keep us busy for a month or two. We have an old FBNA Scout II with 125" wing span that we are going to turn into a Skydiver/TP drop platform for our RC airshow team.

Best Regards,

Joe Nelson

HI Captmicom, I can get a set of plans copied for you, let me know - my direct email is [email protected] and I'll get the cost for you.

I wished I had put flaps on my Dyna Spit - it gets into ground effect and float off the end of the runway.

In the mean time I've set up a Spitfire web site and hope to archive Dyna Flite Spitfire information on it. The site is only a week old so a lot is under construction.
cheers - ken

I bought an entire kit a little over a year ago for I think 225.00, so I don't think that's such a great deal for 150 bucks.
Just my .02,

Ken, will the Spitfire site be a regular on going item on the RC Universe forum? If not, how can I get on board. I'm in the process of building a Dyna Spit that I've had laying around for several years in the box.
