Problem is to get a new canopy for it. I have tried contacting Yellow aircraft by mail 3 times during the last year. No response. I have understood that they no longer sell kits but can possibly provide parts. Any idea how I can get the canopy?

Best regards Eivind

Just so happens I have one ela that I did not use for my kit and I shall happily give it to you mate. PM me with your address and it is yours.

Cheers,

Brad, you are one of the people who make this such a great hobby. I'm not sure if Aussies have similar holiday to Thanksgiving, which we Americans will celebrate tomorrow, so I'll say Happy Holidays to ya.

I've said it many times and I believe it to be true. Model airplane guys, particularly scale model airplane guys, are among the best people on the face of the planet.

Thanks to all for contributing. My problem is solved.

Has anybody balanced the original Yellow spinner for the spitfire? I have not but I think i should have. What is the best practice here?

Thanks gents, I too have been offered and have taken.
I am in a giving frame of mind and just want to make sure I am doing my part.
I am moving from my home town of 47 years and have given away models that I will no longer fly. It made me feel good.

Happy holidays and all that.

Hi Ela,

I balanced mine with the backplate using a cantilever approach. I installed a spindle through the backplate and attached the spinner. The spindle was supported on a balancer, like this one--> http://www.amazon.com/Du-Bro-499-Tru...dubro+balancer

I had to offset one of the supports so that the end of the spindle could go through the hole.

ela, lightening the back plate is a bit of work but well worth it.
This is how I did mine.

Cheers, Brad

I am using a light engine and I need the weight of the backplate. It really helps taking vibrations from the engine, especially at idle :-) But at this point I have a long way to go. Doing fiberglass repair ...

And this is "my" original. In adition to the fact that yellow is wery good for visibility, this PS 915 also was a photospit. That means it has two big holes behind the wing, wery good for the model With a tunedpipe inside the fuselage like mine. Or just for making more cooling air throo

ela, canopy is on it's way mate.

I think the 'P' one the side of wartime aircraft was for 'Prototype' but I will have to check on that. Yellow was high recognition on training and testing aircraft.

Cheers ,,

That's a nice scheme Ela, should be easy to see the plane. I have not seen a model fly with that scheme.

Thank you wery much Brad. You are right that P stands for prototype. These Spits changes reg nr and colours from time to time so sometimes they come out a bit "quasi" :-)

I have a cockpit! It arrived today in perfect condition. Timing was perfect as I am soon done with the painting. Its awsome to receive this part from the other side of the world. Thanks a lot Brad. And a Marry Christmas to you.

My Humbrol painting is finished and its time for the Clear coat. Think I will wait a couple of days. Have a lot of other things to work on.
The living room is now set for Christmas :-)

Hi Len,

Let me be the first to congratulate you. I see you are using a three-bladed propeller. Would you remind us of your setup?

I have enjoyed many hundreds of flights on my Yellow Spitfire and I hope you enjoy yours as much.
