Carl - it is a BME 115. It has the angled back plugs and fits within the cowl without cutting holes. They have since come out with a BME 116 Extreme engine. It was given to me by a very special guy that I treated like a 2nd father, he passed and I want to use his engine in the Avenger. I want to have a bit more power than I need - I guess. Chic

Carl - It's the spark plugs/caps measurements that decides it all. Check carefully. Chic

Carl - I am so desperate to primer my Avenger. I checked all the military bases around here - "NO" paint booths at the Auto Hobby Shop. Is there a spray paint booth in the Auto Hobby Shop on the base down there? Chic

Not sure I will have to check. My club member that painted my Avenger works at an auto body shop so he took it there to paint it.

OK - just getting frustrated in delaying spraying primer. Hope I hear from KlassKotes about spraying around 60 degs without a problem. I have two days coming this week that will top out at 60 degs. Got my fingers crossed. Chic

OK - just received an email from Nate at KlassKote and was told I could spray at the 60 degree temps. It will take longer time to dry but I can go ahead and spray. Yea, Yea. Will spray fuse and wings Wednesday. Can't wait to see it like that. Chic.

Getting ready for spraying primer. I had to replace an old engine stand that broke down on me, (cheap at Harbor Freight with coupon). I use an engine stand because you can mount the fuse (at the engine box) to the engine stand and rotate the fuse as needed to paint. The other device is for the wings.

Chic.
I told you Chad does awesome work, hope to see him at the warbird event this weekend.
Stew, we have a DA-85 in ours, runs great, plane isn't going to make any speed records as we came in around 43lbs. The only thing we weren't happy with was setting up the choke and throttle with a mirror.
Hoping to get all the throws setup this weekend and install the gyro since my flying skills can best be described as somewhere between a turkey and a rock.

Larry - You are tooooo funny. You, Noah, Canada, Stew, etc. we are or will be flying a "TURKEY", the Avenger's nickname. Ha, ha. Will post photos this morning after I take Shirley out for breakfast since she helped me with spraying the Avenger yesterday. Chic

Chic,
You owe her a lot more than breakfast my friend, but what a good egg she is to help you. Love the dummy radial.

Okay so before I go to the forums to ask this question I figured I would ask the Avenger Brain Trust.
I know that the gyro has to be mounted at the center of gravity fore and aft, but what about up and down? Not sure if I can get the gyro on the center line up and down

Thanks
Larry

Man-O-Man, if you want to check out your craftsmanship - just spray on some primer. Will bring you back down to earth real quick. Got some work to do but I got lucky. Not a load of additional work to do. Hope to be able to spray the cowl very soon. Got some primer left over. Chic

Larry - Thank You Brother. But trust me, you don't want girlfriend, she is extremely high maintenance. She drives a Land Rover, she walks into Macy's, Norstrum, TJ Max, etc. and they all call her out by name? Hello Ms. White. Now that is a shoppers - shopper. She said to tell you she is flattered and will keep you in mind. Thanks again, Larry. Chic

She looks hreat chic! Ikahn4 i sold the da-85 and got a fg-84 instead. I just didnt like how consealed the linkages would be and the hi and low end adjustment. I know it wont be a speed demon but i dont want it to be since ill ne flying it is scale competition. If i dont like it, ill pull it off and save it for the corsair i plan on building.
