Bigstew60, that is an amazing result!

Congrats on the superb finish and fine detail work. Really looks beyond great.

I look forward to the flight reports this spring/summer.

Bigstew60, agree with my fellow modelers. That is a fine looking model with great detail. Noah, here is the model I am modeling.
Go to Google and type in: TBM-1 Avenger by Jamie Haggo He modeled a 1/32 model of an RAF Fleet Air Arm TBF-1 Avenger. The title states it is a TBM-1 Avenger but it really a TBF-1 Avenger. Notice there is only one inlet in the front of the cowl instead of the two inlets as on the TBM Avenger. Chic

Yes, Chic! It's fantastic. I remember the scheme.

Nice to have Jamie's thumbnail pictures and detailed description of his preparation of his small Trumpeter model and his preparation of the markings.

Cant wait to see your Kellogg version take form (and flight)!

Best,

Noah

Thanks Noah - that link works just fine. Glad you and Boyd like the paint scheme. Thought it was perfectly unusual and attention getting. Chic

Same reasons I chose the "Beryl the Peril" scheme for my old Avenger, Chic... not for its beauty, but because it stood out and was easier to see yellow stripes to maintain orientation once in the air!

Boyd,

Has Steve made any progress on Beryl's resurrection?

I hope she'll fly again. Not sure about the soon part.

I sold the model to Steve (warbirdrcer), and it was his intention to get the radial engine tuned and get her back on the circuit!

Fingers crossed!

Noah,
Great photo, hope you had it enlarged to a 20" x 24" and hung it on the wall

Awesome, Chic!

Really looking amazing!

Larry, that picture was snapped by a guy up here in Iowa (hotrodtodd here on RCU)... might have to ask Todd still has an original digital copy. It would be perfect, except for the lack of spinner installed and the left gear hanging up on the gear door strut cover!

But yes, those small details aside, I think the model looked great on that pass! And clearly I'm not too modest to share! hahahah!

I certainly agree with Larry. That shot is one for the workshop walls. It remains an incentive for me. Thanks guys. Chic

Hey Guys. Pretty good weather today, in between gusts of wind. Smile. I was able to lay the last grey coat on the bottom of the fuse, top/bottom of both wings, cowl, retract area, and retract area cover fiberglass pieces. Will do the top of the fuse and tail feathers on the next good painting day. Smile. Boy is it hard catching up. Chic

Ha, Ha. You can quit Glad they don't give trophy's out at WOD. Hope I can make a good showing for Charlie if I make it to WOD. South Carolina has an excellent Avenger also. Would enjoy a formation flight with any Avengers that make it to the event. That would be KOOL. Chic
