Hi,
A question to the list. At the moment I am studying the Avenger plans and notice that on Sheet 6 wing ribs # 6 and 7 (the main connecting tube hole) has an oval crossection rather than circular as with the other ribs. Is this to make adjustments to the dihedral angle when connecting the outer wing panel to the wing centre section? BTW my plans have REV G printed under the sheet number. Would this be the latest version?
Thanks for your help.
Reuben

Reuben,

You are correct. The holes are cut oblong because W6 and W7 will be set at an angle (64 degrees) relative to the wing tube.

See some of my early confusion and work to overcome this confusion here:

Rueben - Give "Noah" your fullest attention. He is the corporate knowledge on this build. Him, Larry, Peter, etc. all got me through questionable areas on this build. I still have questions that these guys are there to ALWAYS answer. Hey Navy, have you started working on that Invader yet? Chic

Chic,
Looking great brother. Can't wait to see the first coat of color.
Sat on the tarmac for over 2 hours on the way back home yesterday, a 5 hour flight turned into 7
Was gray, dreary and rainy the ENTIRE time except for when we headed for the airport yesterday, go figure
Have to order a larger battery for the Avenger, for a strange reason which is above my paygrade, one of the elevator halves is slower coming back to neutral than the other. My friend from NY thinks with all the servos and gyro that the 2000MA isn't pushing enough power
Back to the Trojan today after the daughter leaves

Thanks Noah and Chic for the information. I will take a look at the earlier builds but it takes quite a lot of time to read the whole 3000+ valid contributions made. Am trying to see whether I could locate the possible unclear parts of the build and try to fix them before laser cutting. BTW would REV G plan revision be one of the latest versions of these plans?
Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

Thanks Larry - I remember using the same items to set that angle. Ready to install the Power Expander and Throttle Servo. Chic

Chic,
Safe travels
Love the muffler and we should have used a power expander but who knew, would have made the wiring much easier...
What engine is that and I love the fact that you can actually see the carb unlike our DA85 where the carb is nestled inside the motor box.

Chic, I haven't even pulled her out the trailer yet. I actually had to leave again after returning from TOPGUN and I spent what time I have salvaging what I think I can reuse from the avenger. I really what another but I just don't know when I will have time for another build. I have to leave again this weekend for work and return on the 31st just in time for Fredericksburg.

Stop It Bob - Before I frame you and keep you with me. Carl - looked like a wonderful flying airframe. You haven't told us how well it flew on the flights before the accident. Gotta love those photos. Again, Carl, great color scheme. One more God child graduation (Bucknell) Sunday, then back on the Avenger. Rain forecasted all next week. Chic

Sorry, it flew amazing which is why i want another one. You will definitely enjoy flying it. I used about 10 degrees of flaps on takeoff and it rotated on its own. It was very stable and easy to land as well. Theonly down side id she dont like flying dead stick. If you lose you motor get the nose down aggressively to keep the airspeed up. Thats one thing i think i could have done differently.

Noah - I certainly put your recent post on gluing two pieces of 0.010 G10 together for the landing gear doors is right on point. Slow as I am, I epoxied the pieces together and will trim them to size in the morning. Always appreciate your corporate knowledge on this build. Attempting to clear up the rat nest in the back of the bomb bay area. Ha, Ha. Chic

Drying well, will clean up, trim, and set mounting holes and install wooden supports tomorrow. Then prime and prepare to paint. Chic
