TFM/TBM Avenger Pilot's Manual

https://www.flight-manuals-online.co...n-tbf-avenger/

I got the Flight Manual some time ago and it is very informative intrinsically. Now , I can't find it. The second has some RAF TBF info you might find interesting.

It seems your past the detailing stage but if you have any angles you need , don't hesitate to let me know.

Considering how much rain we have had lately Chic is probably busy building an ark... or a Yorktown replica. ;-)

Thanks Paul - If only they knew. My sump pump gave up the ghost so of course my basement flooded. Had to help replace the sump pump, then start the clean up all the mess and then replace that which was destroyed as possible. As they say, when it rains, it pours. Almost back to normal around here. So that means back to the shop in due time. The wing flaps are still on next on the list. All of this I am trying to do before my wife gets back from a two week cruise with our daughter in the Med. At least 80% of this will be cleaned and removed by the time she gets back tomorrow. Water is very destructive as we can see on the national news from the great lost the Carolinians have suffered. Needless to say, with the cruise and with this sump pump incident, I AM BROKE sooooo no hobby purchases for awhile. Ha, Ha. It can only get better. Progress will soon be noted. O'yes, the shop is dry. Re-covering the roof last year has paid off. Later guys. Chic

Chic,
Glad you survived the damaging rains... didn't think it was that bad in VA. but alas as the wife says "*** do I know"
Happy to hear no damage to the workshop.
Temps are finally starting to cool down here, only going to hit 99 today we didn't get much rain from the monsoons this year, guess we picked a good area to live in though there were some towns that got hit.
Okay, get back to work and I wouldn't say anything to Shirley until you pull into the driveway, don't want to play 120 ?'s with her on the drive home LMAO

Thanks Larry, I needed that uplifting. Shirley is going to hit the fan but at least it wasn't "MY" fault - this time. Her Mom has a couple of medical problems that just surfaced and I did not tell her about that. Mom, is doing better. I think she will understand "why" I did not tell her about that and ruin her trip. Your lady is right. Smile. Chic

Colonel, back in the shop, Shirley's back home, the sun is out, back to normal. God is good. Working wing flaps. Feels good to be back at work. Larry, great photos. The tube to take the exhaust away from the fuse is puzzling. Did they just paint the sides, ha, ha or is it to save the fellow at the Avenger door from the exhaust fumes. Most likely the latter. Thanks Guys. Chic

Chic,
There is a WWI event in Va .beach next weekend. If I can make that I'm going.
The Mrs has been in the Hosp for a week. Hopefully she'll be well enough so I can go.

BobH - I also wanted to go to the Tidewater event but I couldn't do both so decided to stay close to home considering I would only be watching anyway whichever event I attended. Prayers and Good Thoughts sent your way for you and the First Lady. Be Safe and Be Well. Chic

Peter, I am almost afraid toooooo. By the way it is NOW being so very awkward for me alone to move it around the work table or placing it into the upside down position it is now in, it may be awful heavy. I am connecting the servos and airlines in the area under the torpedo.

Beautiful work Brother,
Can't wait to see it on the flight deck on it's wheels... I'm figuring about 2 gallons of black paint on the lawn
Finally cooling off here, going to try and get my friend to come over one night next week to help me balance the Avenger
Work slowly progresses on the Trojan

OK Guys - a new problem has surfaced. As I was wiring up all the servos, I kept noticing that there seemed to be a problem with the NiMH batteries. Leaving the switches (2) on for the two 2500 Mah NiMh batteries while connecting the servos to the SmartFly,(8-10 minutes or so) the NiMHs seem to be dropping voltage. The results include seeing the lights on the three Spektrum remote transmitters flicker and/or eventually go out all together. The servos were twitching and eventually stopped operating. In my jets, I use LIFE batteries (DuraLite) 2500 Mah. So I have decided to switch the batteries in the Avenger from the NiMh to the DuraLite LIFE batteries. Working on installing the lengthy battery extension runs to the Duralites today since the batteries are in the front and the SmartFly and switch connections are in the rear of the bomb bay. Chic
