Noah, a temporary respite is fully understandable - I am speaking from experience. I stepped away to pursue something else myself but I believe I am working my way back. The workbench has been cleaned off, the jet has been finished and put aside. I know, I know - Jet. Should get my waiver this month. The Avenger's main wing section is now in the middle of the workbench. God willing we will all be here when you return. I am still looking forward to flying with you one day my friend. Stay well Professor and Stay safe. My best to the "First Lady". Touch base when possible. Chic

Jet, Chic?!?!?

Hahahaha… I almost got one myself about a year ago. I was seriously close to pulling the trigger. Friend of mine has a terrific F18, and I got the bug, albeit briefly. So I can fully understand your exploring that area!

I will return (and probably with the Avenger, no one has expressed any interest or even made any lowball offers!)

Hey guys, look to the right and to the lower right hand corner of the jet's photo and you will see the main section and outer sections of the AVENGER wing. Smile. Both of you stay well and stay safe. Chic

Great news that Charlies' sons are going to continue on with his plans and kits. It would have been a shame not to have his legacy carried on in future builds.
Chic, how's the flying going?

Colonel, girlfriend and I will be looking forward to seeing you. Save one evening for dinner at Ruth Chris. The Avenger fuse is in the box still. What can I say.......... By the way, you will miss two great events, the Hamburg, PA Jet Event on the 6th/7th and the PGRC Pylon Racing Event on the 11th/12th. Who is planning your work schedule. O' I forgot, you need a break from the Hawaii weather, beaches, and bikinis. Welcome back. See you soon. Smile. Chic

Hello everyone. I had to stop work on my Avenger most of last year due to the hunt and purchase of a new home and of course Moving....ugh. Finally got to start working on her again over the memorial day holiday.

Good news there.

I'm repairing my existing birds that keeps me from starting clean slate with my TBF. I need a bigger garage.

Hi Guys, I am 3/4th of the way back. Won't get to next years Scale Nats sitting on my butt any longer. I have found all the parts, had an accident with my rt hand but it too has begun to heal. Will brush up on where I left off and what needs to be added to match the 3-views. I owe this build to myself and to Charlie who had been so good to me as to this build and the many things he did with me to help this build. So lets say I'm back onboard. Here are a few pictures. Hey Chic,
Glad to see you back on the avenger, I guess the hand is almost back to normal.
Can't tell you how sorry I am that we never got to get down to see you and Shirley but life kept getting in the way.
off to Arizona Monday and hopefully will have my shop up and running by the end of September.
We still need to work out a price for the Boxcar including shipping so I can send you $$ once I'm up and running.
just read an article in MAN about the cortex gyro and I'm thinking about putting one in the avenger before it's Next flight.

stay well, talk soon

Whereabouts in Arizona Larry? I will look forward to meeting you at some point and seeing some of your beautiful workmanship. If you need anything when you get to town I would be happy to help if I am able.

I am on the far west side in Litchfield Park Larry, less than hour from Gilbert if traffic is not too crazy. I will look forward to putting faces to names!

***Warning***I somehow lost my .50 Cal in the move. It's in a box somewhere and someday I'll come across it. Not being able to find it I decided I'd just reorder it. I went to the Iflytailies website where I bought the first one. I found the 50 and noticed they also offered a .30 cal BMG. I also noticed the offer both in kit form. So I purchased both in kit form. Well I got them today. I'm not impressed by any means of the word. In fact I'm highly disappointed. What I received was two bags of 3d printed crap. There is so much flash that I can't even tell what's flash and what's detail. Not that there is much of that. The barrel on the .50 is so warped it is unusable aside from the fact that it was broke in half. Neither of these are "kits". They are surgery projects. I would be further ahead if just whittled them out of wood. Don't buy these please.

Hi guys, need help and advise. I am using a single wire hinge point. You can see the hinge pin sticking out of the right elevator. I was thinking about using two separate servos for each half. Should a control horn of some kind be located as in my humble drawing or elsewhere? Or could a single control horn be made up to connect the two halves and only use one larger servo? There is about a 2" clearance between the two halves in the center. Forgot to say, I want to hide anything devised inside the fuse. Thanks for the help. Chic
