Chic,

It looks fantastic. Really well done. I would ask you to take a look at the rudder linkage... think its going to have to change. I doubt the scale linkage will generate enough throw for a snap roll :-) hahahha... seriously, great job. I can't wait to see it in person, or to see a pic of the plane on its gear all painted in primer. Keep at it, you are getting close! -- Barrett

OK Ranger, will have my local A & P inspect the rudder linkage. I will direct the inspector to change the linkage if necessary, to ensure that this airframe "CANNOT" perform snap rolls. Can't wait to see your T-1 perform its first snap roll upon climb out. Ha,Ha. Hey - know that Shirley and I think about you very often,. Stay well and Stay safe. Chic

Noah, again, so glad you and Larry remain supportive in this marathon build. Can you remember what type of hinges you used for the wing flaps? I think I have Klett hinges ready to install unless you guys used Robarts. Again, thanks. Chic

Scale Aileron Hinge Details. The black/gray dots are magnets. When the model is being judged, I will set them in place. When time to fly, I stow them away. Chic

Happy Father's Day to all you Fathers out there. Noah, perfect, thanks. I like the three bolt pattern you used. Of course, will follow your lead. Chic

Hey Brother,
Sorry for the delay but I'm not getting posting notifications. We used the same dubro nylon hinges as Noah for the flaps.
The build is coming out awesome, what craftsmanship, soooooooooo jealous.
Got the inboard flap semi reinstalled on the Avenger but can't seem to get it to lay flat against the wing, am going to flip it over next week and setup the throws and see if that helps...always something.
Garage was 85 at 9 this morning, laying out the cut lines for the canopy, so hot tape wants to curl, will post a pix on the Trojan thread later.
Hope the flying has been good, I haven't been to the field in like 3 weeks, between work hours and the heat just can't seem to motivate myself to pack the car and go
Say hi to Shirley and let her know to get her shopping done quickly, I'm thinking of giving up the P/T job

Later
Larry

Shirley has this questionable look on her face regarding your possibly giving up your part time. Just returned today from the Virginia Beach Aviation Museum carefully looking at their Avenger. It is a Navy air training base so all I did was watch F-18 Hornets and Super Hornets transition all day long when I was not in the museum or on the beach. Had to work a bit on my tan. Kool. The Avenger is not a TBF but the wings and hatches are similar. It is in the 90s here also. Hope my shop window ac unit doesn't give up on me. Please keep your job, it keeps her out of my pocket. Smile. Chic

Glad you had a good time, I have been watching the fire fighting tankers fly over my house for the last 4 days, awesome sight. Not so good for the people up north with 28,000+ acres burned
Tell Shirley she still has some time as I need to buy the cockpit kit and a few other baubles for the Trojan.
Since all the snowflakes...err snowbirds have escaped the heat here they have the crews down to bare minimum besides the fact that the days and hours I work change EVERY week (and some of the kids that work there would rather hide than work).
I will give Shirley plenty of notice and there is hope I can find something else with a set schedule instead of the jerk around I get now.
Again beautiful work on the Avenger

Your brother
Larry

Hello all
finally started on my avenger. Does any have a copy of his instructions? I've been doing a lot of head scratching but still making progress. My Gmail is.... [email protected] in advance if you can help.

Hot, Hot, Hot - Now I know what Larry is feeling - therefore, I can't get outside to sand the fuse. Really slowing me down, therefore I can't glass the fuse and primer the whole airplane. Sooo, I decided to work on the cockpits and finish the turret area. And they say Climate Change is "NOT" real. That's BS for sure. Chic
