Thanks Chic. I"ve accumulated a few "goodies" that are passed around the work force at the "Boat".
I'll add, if there are any photos of needed details on nearly any planes of WWII variety, don't hesitate to request. I get bored answering the same visitor questions and a sojourn down the hangar bay with camera always provide a nice respite.

Colonel, it is so "HOT" here, 100 deg, my A/C wall unit in the shop can not cool the shop well enough to work out there. Almost in the same condition as Larry. Almost. All I can say is soon. Chic

Noah - that turret/gun and most of this build is what it is because of YOU/YOUR Drawings and Advice along with Direct and Very Helpful Inputs from Larry, Peter, BobH, Ranger, Maser, and so many others who have been so helpful. Rough guides are one thing... filling in the critical details is quite another thing!

Hey Larry - I made them by cutting off the ends of some small Xmas trees ornaments. Who'd a thought. Smile. I now know how you feel working in that 90+ degree weather. My shop A/C just can't handle 90+ temps. Just saw where I will have 90+ deg temps all next week. O'well, I have a box I need to get ready for a trip to Arizona. This will give me time to do that. Chic

Lights look awesome, great idea using the xmas ornaments, we used some Ram Tech lights for ours.
FYI about AC's, when you turn them on the 1st thing they do is remove any moisture in the air so depending on how much moisture is in the air, then they need to cool all the material in the space, walls, chairs, etc.
Thankfully electric isn't too $$ here but keeping the house at 77 during the day and 74 at night still costs appx $460/mo from June to Sept., thankfully temps are starting to drop
Still way cheaper than it was in NY and my natural gas bill is about $240 for the year

WOW Larry - my wife said she is JEALOUS of your utility expenses. Needless to say, I say we say more. I give her the money, She pays the bills. God knows, I'd be lost without her. I wouldn't know who to pay nor when. Ha, Ha. Adding seat belts to turret seat. Chic

My Gawd. Your utilities are as much as my monthly mortgage. Living in the South East has it's benefits said as I watch the latest Hurricane Florence track across Bermuda and will find by Thursday if it collides with the Outer Banks.
PS. I got pix of a salvaged Lake Michigan TBF in a small museum I found in Deland Florida at one of the last IMAA meets. Neat story to that but saw a Morse Code keyer in the turret as well as below in the Radio operator station. Cool history to that bird as it suffered an engine fire shortly after takeoff from USS Wolverine. Denied emergency return as the Skipper feared a deck fire... Teak I think I read. Golden Hawks is the resident RC Club there and, should you visit, the museum is small but worthy of the donations asked. Just down the lane from Chief RC.

Hey Noah and Ray. Noah, honestly I have been working. I did the wing tip nav lights and wing position lights, Post (3357, 3364). I made the plastic covers for both the wing tip nav lights and position lights, I weathered the turret and machine gun, and just finished installing the seat/shoulder belts for turret gun seat. Today, I have the fuse upside down and I am installing the 4 piece wing flaps (2 on fuse wing center section, and 2 on the wings today. While the fuse is upside down, I will reinstall the air lines and ensure the bomb bay doors are operational again. Will also reinstall the motor and main landing gear. The wait time will come while I wait for a quiet (wind) morning/evening to take the model outside to attempt to obtain a CG by moving the dual batteries around.. Believe me Noah, and Ranger1, I am working on the Avenger, BUT IT'S HOT. Smile
Ray, sounds like a great place to visit next time I visit Florida. Hummm, where was the key located in the turret, sounds like a kool addition. Chic

Looks like they've come a long way with the TBM. I'll keep the search going. Since I wrote above, I've gone on a search for that folder that had all those pix of seldom seen details. Since I've the same project in the future, I took lots of pix of details and the turret was off and stowed outside with some plexi removed. Gun was gone but most everything was there. I"ve so many files of planes , etc. but it'll turn up.
Added to the TBM story, the pilot is still living and was found. He visited and gave the museum his flight equipement to same. During tear down for rebuild, the engine was well disolved and corroded but a signal flag was found in the engine bay leading to the probable cause of the fire observed by the pilot. I think the flag is still in the museum. Pilot was solo for carrier qualifications.

Just ask Shirley if you can do the balancing on the dining room table, sure it won't be a problem is you threaten to remove the charge cards from her wallet when she's sleeping.
Ray, being AZ is so much cheaper than NY that I can almost afford to turn the AC down to 73
Was in the workshop/garage at 5:30 this AM and the thermometer said 87 worked about 20 minutes, just came back out temp is now 90
Okay back to applying rivets to the Trojan wing...…
