Nice work on the plane Chris, you & John are troopers!
Say, are you bringing your older GP P-38 to the event ?

The Gp p-38 is still in a few pcs. She probably won't be coming unless I can fix it while the P-40 is in the paint shop. Trying to get the paint picked out as we speak.

Chris-

That P-40 is really coming along nicely...have you ruled out painting it ORANGE?

I thought I might update the previous message about the photographer (Craig Paul) that is coming to the fly-in. Here is a series of photos he took of my Hanger 9 B-25 in his studio. He retouched them and the 2 photos with writing on them he is going to put on canvas and I will bring them with me.

One of our new sponsors for Warbirds over Louisville this year is Extreme Flight RC and they have donated three of their large airplane stands below. I have one and love the fact that it can handle .60 size planes on up through some very large giant scale planes.

Thank you Extreme Flight RC for your generous support!

The ten day weather forecast is for 65 degrees and partly cloudy on the 25th. No rain in the forecast.

Remember that Century Jet is offering a 10% discount on retracts for those coming to the event and they will deliver the retracts to you at the event. (NO SHIPPING...get it!)

Special thanks to Century Jet for co-hosting the event and for the great raffle stuff! The big one is pictured below!

Is the P-51 a pilots raffle or open to everyone?

Add my highly modified electric powered H-9 Corsair to the list. It suffered some wing damage in Sept, when I made a bad landing with turbulent crosswinds at a strange flying site (long row of tall trees parallel to the runway, and only about 150 ft from it). I have decided to repair it and bring it, rather than attempt to complete the H-9 B-25 by that time.

The picture below is when it was new/ never been flown (4 years ago), so again: she don't look quite so pretty now. I intened to completely re-finish it this coming winter, as an F4U-1 (birdcage canopy): "Marine's Dream". I also have a set of Lado rotating retracts that I will be installing on it, so I'll be adding some gear doors as well.

Tim; Looks like another really great prize there. If I won it, I would likely make it fuel powered this time (or maybe trade it for the new TF AT-6 ARF?). Also: will anybody be there who can take good quality videos?

NoFlaps; Maybe we can do a sortie together with our Mustangs?

Green River RC-

Raffles will be open to everyone. Of course most of the folks here will be pilots.

Jim-

I will check with Craig and see if he can shoot some video. If not I will see if I can find a club member.

Update: Craig says he will probably be able to shoot some video.

hey guys,
any of you all planning on coming to Bowling Green (Sat. 18th) for SKYMAC's "WARBIRD ALLEY" event? the weather is looking great and the field should be in order for some good ole warbird action. so far i have heard from other clubs in Indiana, Tennessee, and other parts of the Good O Bluegrass state that have made plans to attend.
thanks
Eric

Hi Eric-

My newly adopted niece is being dedicated tomorrow afternoon so I cannot attend but count on me next year...I really want to meet some of you guys. I know some of the guys have been talking about coming to BG.

I really had my eye on one of those shirts!

Hope you can still make it to Louisville next weekend. At least gas prices are falling...(as fast as my stock portfolio)!

Chris-

The orange camoflage isn't doin it for me but maybe it will work better when you get the whole thing in orange camo!

Seriously, that thing is lookin great...can't wait to see it finished. I believe we may have a maiden flight at Warbirds over Louisville.

Wanna sell it? Keep up the great work.

Well it looks like we are getting another big donation to raffle off. This one is a BIG warbird...over an 80" wingspan.

Now that you're wondering I'll let you know in a couple of days when I get it in my hands. (This one is probably going to come with some extra goodies too!!!)

Remember to order your Century Jet retracts for your winter project. You will receive 10% off and CJM will deliver them to the fun-fly.

Also, don't forget that we will be having a swap meet during the fun-fly so bring that stuff you can live without so that you can swap for some stuff you can't live without!

But most important remember to just come to have fun and meet new friends.

Guys as of 11:45pm the P-40 is ready for paint. Twelve straight hours is enough paint fumes and sanding for anyone!! Goes into the paint shop Monday night to be finished by Tuesday. Playing hookie Thrursday and Friday in hopes of finishing up. She might be dripping paint on the runway but it'll dry in the air.

Chris-

Does your wife know you just painted the lense on her brand new camera?

P-40 looks awesome...can't wait to see the final paint. Of course if you leave it like it is those Zero's will never find you on a cloudy day.

It looks like we are going to also have a Hanger 9 B-25 to raffle and it will include two OS .46 AX engines. We want to thank Horizon Hobby and Scale Reproductions Hobby Shop here in Louisville for their kind generosity.

With the Top Flite P-51 and the B-25 some lucky folks are going to get an early start on their winter projects.
