Unknown Ki-61
Hello to all!
Just founded one shop in China, with Ki-61 I have not seen before...
http://www.sunnyhobby.com/index.php?...9&productname=
any Idea about quality? It looks like plastic model, fake photo or it's really so goodlooking?

The link was not working for me earlier either but is working now for whatever reason.
The Ki-61 looks suspiciously like a well built plastic model to me and I would be very doubtful of the actual model looking like those pics. Just my .02 cents.

On the Sunny Hobby site it shows an incredibly nice FW 190 D. On the kit view it looks like an A. The kit is nice, but it isn't close to the first picture.
I couldn't get the link to come back so I went to the sunnyhobby website.

Pic definitely looks like plastiv model, not to mention that it says it's only 4 ch and has those open wheel wells. I'm curious to know how much that puppy would cost to have her shipped.
VQ is comming out with a new .60 sized Ki61, but I think I may have to pass on that one.
The pic on the link you provided certainly is intriguing though.

Hirobo Hien looks better.

RE: Unknown Ki-61
Hello ALL of you Ki-61 Hein (Tony) lovers out there! After reading this thread a few weeks ago, I desided to take a chance and send sunnyhobbies my infor. through pay-pal and YES, I did recieve a Falcon 120 and the Ki-61 Hein all within 5 days of placing my order with sunnyhobbies, UPS made the delivery to may door step.
Let me tell you that this is one very good looking and from just a quick look a very well built airplane. For $158.00 NO WAY you can beat it.
The pictures you see on sunnyhobby's web. page is a plactic model for I'm a Ki-61 lover and I have that plastic model kit. But if you check out post # 14 by JEFFHINES73 then that is exactly what you get. Thanks JEFFHINES73 for posting the KI-61.
Now for the down side of all of this is and I do not want to whole anything back form you, is that after you place you order you are HIT with the SHIPPING CHARGES. AT around 132.00 per airplane to ship, and they would not ship both airplane at the same time in the one container box.
This alone would have saved me $130.00 at least, but I just said the H-ll with it and just went for it. I can honestly tell you that I am very glad I did go for it, and it would be nice if we could get this airplane in the USA, Get a Hobby shop out side of the USA to give us a good deal on the airplane and not shove it in on the SHIPPING.
I thank you all out there for hearing me out and I do hope that this will aanswer some of your questions that you may have had. Perhaps if time permits this weekend I will post more on the Ki-61 after I take a closer look, maybe a picture or two.

none of the links above seem to be working for me but I found and have recently purchased a 71' KI-61 from easytigermodels.com. Nice plane, all balsa, ok mechanical retrcts and split flaps. wings are plug-in so it needs 3 servos in each wing (1 ea. ail, flap, gear) but it makes for easy transport and top-load access in fuse for radio, etc. Packaging was good and seller was top rate...quick to ship. see photos at web site

Well guys, here it is as I just received it. The packaging was top end and everything survived the postal svc...every sub-set bag was secured either with tape or glue. The construction looks pretty good and the wood is good quality. Nice roomy radio and accessory compartment, easy top access. The cowl is fiberglass and has alot of detail. comes with mech retracts in the bag with a comprehensive hardware pac...engine mount incl. Assy instructions are on a mini cdrom disk and are decent...if you have much builing experience you'll only need the CG location and the dihedral value. tail servos are to be mounted in the tail though I think you could put them in the front bay easily enough. Flat bottomed from nose to tail. spinner included but it is 3/4" too small in diameter. Over all I'm happy with it. It'll be #4 in the building que so no buid pics for a while.

Just in case anyone ever happens to visit this thread....
I have finally finished my bash of this arf. Put a .91 Saito in it.
Here's some pics. The last one, of the two wings, the top is the out-o-the-box wing with film covering and the bottom is the sheeted, glassed and painted wing.
