Well... It's now my turn to get my hands in this beast to keep her contest ready. We're going to redesign the main landing gear mounts and take care of the weak points.
Here's the plan:
1. All of the existing ribs that contact the retract rails will be removed and wheel bays cleaned out.
2. Reinforce inside of wheel bays with 6oz glass.
3. New 1/8 plywood ribs with 1/4 plywood doublers will be made.
4. New solid maple or pine rails.
5. Replace bottom skin as needed, glass, prime, paint to match, beat to fit...
