Default RE: COMP ARF 110" F4U ARF WITH FOLDING WING ASSEMBLY

I have been flying four of the Moki 250 radial for four years now. Each engine is different in the placement of the exhaust outlets and engine mounting holes. Also some ignitions want 4.8 volts and some want 6 volts. I have talked to Hans Deter at Airworld Germany and he said this is normal.

My folding wing comp arf will be flying in about 6 weeks but too late for Top Gun.

The green/white cowl # 11 paint scheme originally came from the small Profile Publication #150 Corsairs F4u-4 to F4u-7. The original plane was a 5 with a chin scoop on the bottom of the cowl. I built two of them with this paint scheme. A .60 size Royal kit in 1976 and a 82 inch Brian Taylor about 10 years ago. MAkes for a handsome plane.

Check out the video on Youtube of my Seafury with a three blade 31X12 prop

Wayne Fussell and Dino Di Georgio are the source for Solo props. They bought the company.

How well did the DS cockpit kit fit?

What size air cylinders did you use for the sliding canopy.

Here is the five view of # 11. It is from eh Profile Publications # 150 [img][/img]
The Chance Vought F4U-4 to F4U-7. The original plane was in a Marine training unit VMFT-20 based at MCAS Cherry Point in 1952.

Since then there has been a full size restoration that won at Oshkosh a few years ago.

A day at the field.
72 degree, low wind and not a cloud in the sky.
I got three flights on my balsa usa 1/3 nieuport 28.
I was going to 'do battle' with the FW-190 but I snapped the FG tip off my yellow spit (all fixed and ready for tomorrow!).
The FW-190 is Vailly 93".
The japanese is scratch built and I forgot the type.
The jet is a yellow jet engine powered generic airplane.

The Japanese plane is a Kawasaki KI-61. The allies called it a Tony because it looked like the Italian fighter macchi 202.

My Tony is 86 inches wing span with an OS 160. Futaba 14 ch radio

Attached is my Don Smith plans model of it

Guido 123, Wow thanks for sharing that great video, that is a beautiful airplane! I received my Moki 250 on Thursday and the Corsair on Friday. Both arrived undamaged. The quality shows in both of them.
Some how I was under the impression that the retracts were included with the arf kit. I was in a state of shock when my rep told me they were not included and what the cost is for all of the retract parts and pieces. Well when I watch that video it helps me to forget how much it cost to put this bird in the air.
I've been researching paint and think I'll try the latex paint. My wife and I had dinner this evening with a friend and his wife who is a semi retired body man. He did not have a problem with painting it with latex.
Today I built a test stand and mounted the engine and took it to the field for a test run. It started right up with a little choke. I got almost 5500 rpm with a Vess 32-C. It had a slight high end miss, high speed needle setting I suspect. What a great sound, I really wanted to run it longer than I did but I didn't want to over heat it, it idled smoothly at 1050 rpm. The manual says to use 30 to 1 synthetic oil. I guess 2 stroke oil is what to use. Any thoughts on what brand to use with this motor?
I'm really stoked about this airplane but because of my work schedule I wont be able to start on it for about 3 weeks but it should be flying by summer, and what a fun summer it shaping up to be!

forgive the nerve ... but I know what kind of work you do to enable aircraft and engines that cost as a real car ... you know that I am very indiscreet .. and frankly I have no regrets. but the fact that several people who saw him mounted on their aircraft that maybe gives me hope that one day can you have one []... you say ...

Don't give up hope. Like many flyers including myself, we save and save and save for the toys we wish to have. We also sell some of our older toys to fund the newer ones. It may take me 2 to 3 years to sometimes get what I want, but things usually work out pretty well. Good luck to you.
