Hi Dave,
Back home in Sunney Essex now

Yes your Tiger looks great and as you know I can't wait for your tiger and my 38 to be in the air this summer!!!.

Dave I noticed that twat on the Uk fourum is being a pest, you would think he would just get on with his own over weight builds.

Cheers Graham B

Dave, I would recommend you reconsider your retract supplier. I am building a Bob Campbell Tigercat, just a little bigger than Don's design. Darrell at Seirra has had my plans for over a year, first telling me that he would have my retracts to me in three months. Then as time progressed he would tell me to call him next month, then the mains were done, call again in a month, etc. I finally gave up on him. I think he's to busy building gear for Kondor and retract's and hinge mechanisims for Comp ARF's F4U. I have odered my gear through Robart, with custom length struts(they have a stock set that will fit you Tigercat). Good luck on your project, T-cats are the best. I'll send you some photos as my project comes together, was waiting to receive my retracts before I started, but I'm not waiting any longer....twin DA-85's, all black in the BigBoss Man Reno racer scheme.

Hi rcfirefighter,

Well its good to hear someone else is building another Tigercat! yes keep me posted on the progress of yours, i doubt i will do any more work on mine until i receive the retracts, Darrell has done the same to me, has been promising these retracts for months now, thing is his retracts are the best 'scale' looking ones avaliable, so im reluctant to change to another manufacturer? there is a couple of composite Tigercats being built in the U.K. one of which Darrell is supplying the retracts for, and there is a thread on the U.K's RCMF website for it, its being built for a well known U.K. flyer and Darrell has promised me my retracts will be sent with his!!

Im not sure how much bigger your Tigercat will be to mine but im only fitting either Zenoah 26's or 38's in mine, yours with DA 85's will be like a rocket!!!

Is the Bob Campbell Tigercat a composite or a built up balsa one?

All the best,
Di n Dave..

Steve,

Sorry to here you moved on to the Robart Retracts. We just finish up yours and a few other sizes this weekend.
Let me know if you change your mind. I have a few other modelers waiting for similar sizes.

Dave,

We finish your Tigercat retracts last week. Waiting until after the Christmas rush before we send them over.
Just need to get with Leon on how he wants them sent.

Regards,

Darrell

Hi Darrell,

WOW!!! I must admit.... as i said in my ealier post, this is why i wanted to use your retracts .... they look STUNNING!!! im am quite happy that you have waited to get the Christmas rush out of the way, last thing i need is for another set of retracts to go missing! im quite happy to wait for another few weeks but i dont know how quickly Ali is wanting his? shame i should have ordered the scale wheels to go with them realy, Dubro's will have to do!

Just need to twist your arm on a 'sensible' price for a set of 1/4 scale Bearcat ones now!!

Thanks for your reply Darrell,

Speak soon,
Di n Dave...

Hello Dave,

Sorry again for the delay, but with the increase in demand for our products, we have
to take some of the larger orders to make money at so we can help pay for the
design and testing of the smaller orders. I will be sending yours and Ali's retracts
out at the same time along with a few others.

We will be making some scale wheels for the Tigercats before the flying season if you
feel like a more scale set later on.

If you are looking for retracts for the 3W Bearcat, let me know as I only have one
more set available. They are not the "Scale Folding Retracts" as they would not be
"Sensible Priced" and you would have to build a new wing even if we could make them.

Regards,

Darrell

Hi Darrell,

No problem, im quite happy to wait for a few more weeks, its good to hear they are now done, cant wait to get my grubby hands on them!!

I agree, i dont need the wheels at the moment, i will set it up on the correct size in Dubro for the time being, let me know when you start your run on the wheels please.

Unfortunately, i want the scale articulating retracts that you do for the smaller Ziroli Bearcat, i looked at a set you had at Giant Scale Planes U.S.A. on your stand...........very nice!!!

Thanks again,
Di n Dave..

Hi Dave, my tigercat is 109" in length, with a 120" wingspan. Plans as drawn are for all wood construction with foam core wings. I picked up a figberglass fus, nacelles and cowls. I will send pic's soon.

Steve

Good luck with your project.

Darrell, I would of appreciated knowing that you were working on my gear. Everytime I called you, you said call back in another month. I left you voice mails on your phone, and sent you emails as well asking for an updates on my project. You never responded back once, as far as I am concerned you customer service policy is in need of attention. My request for custom gear has gone on for over a year, with no communication back from you. Good luck in you venture, you've lost a customer.

rcfirefighter,

I have the same Cambell Tigercat waiting to be built as well. I have the Robart retracts for it. I will have to have the nose lengthened as I think it is a set for the DS 'cat. I paid so very little for them, I could not complain. The mains will be ok as they are. It will be an interesting build since everything will have to be engineered. There is no way I am using his plywood tongue wing joiner system. I will be using tubes to hold the outboard panels on as well as making a plug in stab.

Jeff, had the same issue with the cores, contacted Bob at Flying foam and he cut me a new set, ready for TNT wingtubes and sleeves, servo bays, servo lead tubes and the spare joining center section cut out as well. Really reasonable, Bob has the cad info on file for the Cambell Tigercat, he can help you out if your interested. Good luck with your Cat and thanks. for the update on the retracts.

Hi Guys,

Ive heard back from Ralle at Tailormade decals again, and all the masks and artwork is now done, should take around 4 weeks for delivery, he also says he has located a 'walkround' for the Tigercat, so that will help when it comes to the scale details...

All the best,

Hi Guys,

Right............ after waiting months for the retracts for the retracts for the Tigercat, and pestering Darrell At Sierra Precision seems like every week.........

Yesterday we have found out that Darrell HAD sent the retracts, they HAD been arrived in the U.K. at our local Parcelforce dept......and thats where thay sat.......... and kept on sitting....... until they decided to RETURN them back to Darrell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:@][:@]

What they should of done is .............contact me that they had arrived in the U.K. and quoted the duty to be payed, they should of sent a letter, then if no repy should of sent a reminder....... but they did NOTHING!!!!! they just sent them back!!!!!![:@][:@]

So........ Darrell now has them back....... hes going to send them again, so with no thanks to Parcelforce they have held me up even more from getting on with this project!!!

Thanks go out to Darrell at Sierra for the help in TRYING to get them to me!!

Wiil keep you posted,
Di n Dave.......
