Default Mustang fever, combat anyone?

Everyone is building Mustangs around here and I think the need a little competition so I think I'll build a Zero. Question, I want to fly combat also so you think they might get upset when I take my 15 size combat Zero up with the big gassers and start flying comokozee! Sorry can't spell the last word (comokozee)

When you consider the time and above all the money involved in a big gas warbird, I can't imagine anyone engaging in combat with it. I would be most upset if I was flying my P47 and a .15 sized bird started to buzz me, I would land immediatly. I would then comence to have a few choice words with the .15 pilot.

Vince, take it easy! I fly giant also and don't worry I wouldnt do it. It sure would be fun to see the guys reaction if I put a scarf around my head and pulled aout a table and had the shot of Soki and then pulled out a 15 size Zero and took off though.

The way some of these warbirds are built, I bet they wouldn't even notice a small bump in the air like that.

Would NOT want to find out though...

bumps??? just last weekend, my friend lost his big Ziroli Skyraider... 100" span 35 lbs airplane.... he lost his plane against a 40 size trainer... 55" at 5lbs.

I did not see what happen, and when he explained that the trainer's wheel hit his wing tip and did some damage to the one right aileron he could not level it back and it crashed... very very strange but the trainer survived!...

A David and Goliath syndrome....

I don't know? I got into scale combat afew years ago and had great fun with it. Infact got my son doing it too. But last year I noticed on more than one ocassion contestants bringing one plane per round? That would explain that feeling I'm getting that I do much more building than flying!

My me109 hits P-47 (1999)
My Me109 hits P-51D (2000)
Preditor hits my Dauntless (2000)
Preditor takes vertical stab off my AT-6 (2001)
My AT-6 takes elevon off Preditor (2001)
Sons Corsair hits P-47 head on (2001)

Ah, my kingdom for someone willing to just tail chase with symilar size models, keeping blue between 'em but makin it look good. Anyone interested?

Haven't built one. Heck, my current Spad flies like someone tied a brick to it but hopefully that'll change soon...

Not my idea of fun, at least not with WWII scale aircraft. I guess I'm getting too old.
