ORIGINAL: RACJ

Actuators?? Does this mean if I have Robart air retracts already in a plane I can convert them to electric and do away with tank and lines?? THANKS,RACJ
I think it depends on the particular Robart gear here is the page fron LADO http://www.lado-tech.net/products.php?cat=7 but it looks like that is what you will be able to do

looks like magnumrc is only going to carry the ESM retrofit units unless they expand there line of products, I would imagine they will but I wouldn't want to speak for them http://magnumrc.com/index.php?main_p...a3ba15fbb382e7

this was just posted on the LADO site as well that the sale has been finalized and production should start etc... http://www.lado-tech.net/

Yes, I have been through this thread. It is the same here as in other parts of the web. People making wise cracks, calling people liars and cheats, stating things that are not facts, generally being unhelpful twits because they have no personal responsibility for what they post. Many posts seem to come from 11 year old children rather than adults. Rather than LOL you might check and find out that there are people that have received their repaired LADO retacts.

I like others want to use the LADO retacts. LADO tried manufacturing and was not very good at keeping up, especially with health and city inspector problems. Do I think he made a mistake. Yes. Do I think the LADOs are a good product. Yes. So much so that I would rather have all my aircraft have LADOs rather than all the plumbing I have to put in with Robarts. LADOs are cheaper too when you consider all you need for pneumatic retracts.

So, I will wait for another month or so and see if everyone receives their retracts.

Default RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?

A quick question about the max voltage I can use on these. The instruction sheet says that typical voltage is 4.8 to 6.0 and max is 6.7. I'd like to run my A123 batteries with them, but they are closer to 7-7.2 when fully charged. Anybody try these without problems, or do I need to reduce the voltage going to the Lado retracts?
Thanks,
steve

Steve,

The reason I send mine back was because I use more then 6.0, and they burn......But they are fix now and will be on their way soon....

Cheers,

I am using A123s in replacement of all of my 5 cell (6V) batteries. So far the LADOs are holding up. Both my A123s and 5 cells max out a about 7.2 volts when fully charged.

Have to check out the owner of LADOs and see what they say on their website.

Thanks guys! Maybe I'll cut back on the voltage just to be safe....looks like getting them repaired can take a while.

Hmm... not sure about that... has any one yet confirmed what the NEW prices will be on the Lados if/when they start selling them again? Has anyone also confirmed that Lado has also fixed their issues with their retracts breaking bearing and/or seizing up? (funny how some do not want to talk or even mention these issues) Definitely valid questions to ask!

I know some guys have used the 7/16 struts with the rotators, you need to make a adaptor for the wire connector, sleve a 5/32 wire with a piece of brass so you can connect them the larger strut only comes with a 3/16 adaptor.

I used the 3/8 robo-strut for my H-9 P-40,its a little chicken legged but it works just fine.

I used the 7/16 struts on my H-9 Mustang, I had to modify them by disassembling the strut, removing the nylon stop, and cutting aprox 3 coils off the spring.

then after cutting the tube down to size and JB welding the adaptor in, you can put them back together, on the Hangar-9 planes at least, you end up cutting the internal stop out when cutting the tube to size, so it just slides up against the adaptor.

I didn't cut the shock portion down and this reduced the amount of travel but they work well, my standard 90o gear I had made with the 3/16 hole so i could use the larger pin.

I bought some piano wire from the LHS and after cutting the pin to size and notching for the grub screws I heat treated them for hardness so there super stiff, and I have loads of extra for when it bends, no need to worry about bending them back I just cut another one to replace it.

had to edit this a bit

80-90 dollars for a pair of struts really adds to the price of a pair of retracts.

not really when you look at a pair of century jet rotators there 270.$ http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXA797&P=0

of course you can get that price down with the tower discount program etc...

but if the new company keeps prices on par with what lado charged 200 for the rotators http://www.lado-tech.net/proddetail.php?prod=60-2

then the price is on par with most other mfg. sierra precision sells there rotators for 270 as well http://www.sierraprecision.com/prod30.html

there all pretty close in price for quality gear.

Received my repaired retract a few days ago. Worked great. I will buy more retracts for my other aircraft once Lado gets settled down.

I,ve been watching of late to see if the newly structured company is able to satisfy the demand[back orders etc]
I,ll just wait a while lnger for things to settle down before jumping in.

Hey, why don't you run them on a separate 4.8v pack & higher mah?.
Isolated from the reciever pack...
