RE: halp halp!!! I would change color to a plane...
THANKS for the prompt response LDM. Recently I managed to buy a 1/2.5 scale Cap 232. As I said previously, I bought this plane through auction. But now has some 'of years of use and therefore would need a refreshed. I had to replace even more than in the direction that had been damaged in reparability with a balsa .. in fact my idea was to convert the colors of Italian acrobatic patrol ... the air and completely painted .... Frankly I do not know what kind of color has been used to see but it seems very strong even when it is sanded .... you could tell me what would be the steps to restore this aircraft ... Thanks for the aid you can give .. hello and see you soon.

OK:
First off: IF you are attempting to post pictures (which you SHOULD), they are not showing up. "A picture is worth a thousand words", and you have failed to post any. Post some and we will all at least have an idea of what we are working with.
Second: if you cannot answer the simple questions posted by LDM, I doubt anyone in the English speaking world can. You MUST tell us what type of finish it has on now, AND what type of finish you would like to apply before we can provide an appropriate responce.

RE: halp halp!!! I would change color to a plane...
Well, if it was me: I wouldn't take the time to sand it down to bare balsa. It is after all: a sport plane which will be given a military scheme (nothing wrong with that, but I just wouldn't put that much effort into it).
SO, I would sand it just enough to remove the major imperfections, primer it (with compatable primer, preferably white or light gray), and apply new finish using same type/ brand of paint. I don't see the need to "Isolate" IF you stick with the same type/ brand of paint.
Frisket would work great on this one for masking, but again: since this is not a true scale warbird: simple masking tape might work sufficiently.
