KMP vs CMP Corsair?
I have had 2 CMP Corsairs, looks nice and flies great.
Nitroplanes has them for $200
The KMP Corsair seems exactly the same size , apart from the colors looks pretty similar and costs more than twice than the CMP Corsair.
What is the difference? I have never seen one in person. Is the KMP that much better?

RE: KMP vs CMP Corsair?
Different type of build. The KMP is epoxy glass, the CMP is poly. glass.
Epoxy glass is usually superior to polyester glass 95% of the time.
The paint job on the KMP tends to be slightly better quality than the CMPs.
The fittings and bits that compe with the KMP kit are usually superior to the CMP kits. Except for the retracts, they ones from KMP are horrible. I haven't seen the ones that CMP offers as of yet, but they cannot be much worse than the utter crap I got from KMP.
I cannot say the KMP's are worth double what the CMP's are though.

All what I can say, I had both CMP and KMP different airplanes - one is an Accura and one is a Honda - both need work. The KMP is better then the CMP but the CMP is in the price class where they belong - both of them.

RE: KMP vs CMP Corsair?
The CMP is not built as well, but for the price is a good "starter" warbird. Once you get comfortable with the plane, then get a KMP. The KMP has better flaps, more scale panel lines and better paint job. The KMP will end up a little heavier than the CMP so it will fly more like the real plane. I started with a CMP Hellcat and loved it. It was a fine plane for the price and worked out great until I outgrew it and wanted more scale.

RE: KMP vs CMP Corsair?
Yep, the set of Bf 109 gear Ibought from KMPa few months ago are gen 5's.
Issues:
1.) soft nipples that dent, bend or break easily. Mostly on the cylinders themselves, but the one on the air tank is the worst looking mess Ihave ever seen.
2.) airline so hard when you bend it, it breaks.
3.) sloppy retracts, meaning a lot of give and motion during the retact and extension motions.
4.)leaky main cylinders. A full tank of air didn't even make it thru three sets of extend and retract.
5.)Horrible screws, Iactually SNAPPED the head off of the hex screw used to hold the oleo in the retract unit.
6.)Horrible machining of the actual retract unit, there was so much space between the socket of the retract unit and the oleo strut Ihad to use plumbers tape to make up the difference.
7.) Horrible customer support. IE, I've gotten NONE even after repeated calls and emails to KMP.
8.)Expensive for chinese stuff. For the same price you can get a set of retracts from either Sierra or Shindin.

My CMP arrived yesterday. So far, I am impressed. Especially for a 200 dollar plane.

The CMP Corsair discussed here is the 1.20 sized version.
P.S. Nice planes!
What size is that 3 blade prop? What engine in the KMP?

RE: KMP vs CMP Corsair?
So Mike has convience me to go with the KMP Corsair !
Some news on where to buy them in the US. KMP doesn't import them any more a company called TroyBuilt Models was for a bit but they sold their inventory to a new comapny called ARF Pro here in the US. They have a web site which will give you all the contact information you need.
