Dave,

You know, I guess I'm not sure. The Jug's cowl is nine inches wide, by twelve inches top to bottom. Not being familiar with the Moki 250, I couldn't say if it would fit. I know I did shoehorn a G62 in my protptype, if that helps you any.

Hey, shouldn't this post be on my P-47 thread anyway?

Sounds good chicken...you can't have enough muscle for the heavy iron. That's what made America great, horsepower, and plenty of it![sm=wink_smile.gif]

I'm actually trying to kit the Jug, but I have been held up by the kit cutter. Very frustrating! One should always do their homework and check on this and other sites to see if the person they are dealing with is reputable. Sure wish I had done that first! He has all of my templates, and I never made copies. (stupid, stupid, stupid) [:@]

Thanks, I appreciate the moral support. He's all the way down in Alabama, so I can't exactly drop on in there. I do have a buddy that's an over the road trucker that goes through his area. He's about 6'5" and I think I may have him knock on his door. I know he'd pay attention to him!

Hi Swetpea,

Appreciate your comments! I will definately keep you informed of progress on all fronts! I'm so close to finishing the Hellcat I just have to rap that up before I start head-long into another project. The flaps have held me up, but I believe that can be worked out later. I really just want to get the proto flying!

Lots of work to do on the 109 before I can get serious. I've got fabulous molds, but as of yet no infrastructure. These molds are really very nice, so I know the Me-109 should be popular. That will definately be another thread!

Dave Andersen. Yeah, you guys know who I mean. Mr. Scale Desgner himself. The scale is 1/5 and the span is 96 inches.
ORIGINAL: Jmik
She's 12.5 at the 3 and 9 o'clock position, 14'' at the 6 and 12 position. I think your Moki would slip right in there.

Jeff, something is wrong here. The cowl can't be 12.5 inches wide. Here is a scale 96 inch Hellcat, the cowl about 3/4 inch from the beginning is 10 7/8 inch and 3/3/4 from the beginning of the cowl is just a hair over 10 inches wide.

Please explain, thanks

Pete,

Not quite sure what to tell you. The 12 inches was at the open cowl flaps, that makes it a bit wider. Enclosed is the 3-view I used to make my plug. In using the provided scale, the cowl appears to be the dimensions I listed earlier.

Math was never my strong suit.....

So what you referring to is, the cowl overall measurement with open cowl flaps? I just checked your provided drawing and it is pretty much the same result.

Pete, now I'm confused. The drawing I sent you has the cowl diameter, at the fuse, at over five feet. 5x12 =60. 1/5 of 60 inches is 12 inches. Did I miss something?

Well Jeff, the model is 96 wide right? That is a scale of 1:5.35 - 60 inch in the that scale comes to 11.21 inches. But I measured not at the beginning/end of the cowl, my measurements started at 0.787 respective 3.773 inches.
Anyhow - to solve that could you measure the width of the firewall horizontal (at datum) and the width vertical (center) - would be nice.
Second question, how much for the fiberglass fuse of the F6F - i don't need plans for the wing or formers ect. thanks!

G-Pete, the "firewall" or start of the fuse is 14" vertically and 12 1/2 horizontally. Hope that helps. I guess I could sell you just the fuse, but what will you do for the wing?

Hellcat 56....Thanks for your interest. PLease check out my web page listed below. I am adding new parts from Dave Andersen's designs all the time. Dave has been working on a 1/4 scale Japanese "Babbs" and I have produced a cowl and wheel pants for his new bird. My P-47 is very close to being marketed, and the 109 and B model Mustang are still a work in progress. (as is my Hellcat too!) Here is a pic of the fuse plug for the 109 mold.
Lawrence, I bet I met you at a Scale Masters a few years back. You and your buddy were campaining large P-38's.....that was you, right? [sm=wink_smile.gif]

I'll have a detailed build thread on the P-47 up before long.

Oh yeah, just in case my wife is reading this, prepair to park the car outside of the garage soon lol....
