Yea, crazy isn't it. Betty Ann came home today, and is to follow up with her cardiologist for the open heart asap. Don't know when right now, or how this will impact my plans.

I have some of your stuff. The air hose and disconnects. The multi port fittings sounded pretty slick to me. You can check out the CJ web site for them or give Bruce a call direct. He knows about your needs. Remind him about me getting the stuff for you, he will recall.

The total gave you is what I paid.

I tore out the old ribs where the main gear goes so there will be enough room for the large retracts. I am using 1/4" aircraft ply for the new ribs and maple rails. Everything is supported by hardwood 3/4" triangle stock and 3/8" square maple. I am now figuring out where I need to set the rails. I also cut some 1/8" ply to raise the front of the bottom just beyond the wide air intakes and oil coolers. You will see it in the pix. It isn't glued in yet but I will do that last after both retracts are in and working.

Gary,

Thanx I got the air lines and quick connects today. Now I can run the lines to the gear. Did you get my check yet?

Yes, came yesterday. Glad to help Barry.

One note for you. Bruce told me that the air line they use has 'memory'. You can expand it slightly with an awl or similar tool, slide it on, and it will collapse around the barb and never leak. Those disconnects are bullet proof as well. Did you check with him about his '1 in-4 out' air fittings? Thought that might save some air line.

Gary,

Not yet but I did order some regular brass T's from Darrell. I'll order some of the 4 in 1 brass T's from Bruce at CJ on Monday along with regular brass T's so I can have the retracts definitely working by Friday. You can never have to many of them around for future projects. I do wish Bruce would of had red and black instead of red and yellow.

Thanks again for the favor!

Yes, he apologized on the air hose. He has I think 6 colors in all, but only had those left. It is nice to be able to keep things straight like that, but of course, we won't have that problem with electric gear.

Now I have both side finished but not epoxied in yet. I have to find 2 more small clamps so I can operate the gear and see if they are perfeclty alligned. The large clamps get in the struts way. Of course Menards only sell Tool Shop and they were out of the smallest size.[&o] No biggy though. It gives me time to run the air lines and get all of it ready for when I do epoxy the maple rails in.

Wait a minute, you still need to finish that P-40 hanging in the back ground as well.

Gary,

Your right it is hanging over my head literally! But this Corsair is not going to be interupted until it's finished come He.. or high Water. I can't find the brass "T"s on Century Jets website anywhere so I was wondering if you know how to find them. If so can you post the link to go right to them?

I'll take a look. Bruce told me about them in person at Toledo.

I have been busy working on my retract rails and wheel wells. I have been trying to position the retracts everyway possible to be able to have gear doors. I will have them but the only way is to have two sets of axles. One for flying and one for static. The only way the doors will work is if I leave a large gap between the wheel and the strut. This alows the strut to ly flat on top of the C-Channel wing joiner and let tne wheel sink down into the bottom of the well. It is the way the retracts are made with built in toe in that makes this a problem.

Gary,

Yes but then the strut doesn't come all the way down and will bind and cause damage. If I adjust if just a little it will not really do any good. I'm calling Darrell Monday to see if he can change it if I send them back in after I have them installed and can move on to finishing the sheeting.

I hope he can help you with this. Gear doors that don't work and a project of that caliber would be a shame.
