VQ Hawker Sea Hurricane Size 46 (the smaller one)
I thought, I should share my experience with the VQHurricane 46 since I only could find information here on the 61 size.
Well, I got the ARF-kit recently for only 108 EUROS. I added 17 EUROSfor some retracts sold by Graupner. Once, they were spare parts for a P51 or Texan. Who knows? Anyway.
So, here we go:

Don´t me fouled by the box. It shows both the size 61 and 46.
Fuse and wings are covered in some kind of printed plastic folie. The fuse has a rear end alomst made like the real Hurricane.

Elevator as well as the ailerons are pre hinged. The ruder has to be glued ito place after the stab is attched to the fuse.

Only the airlerons are guled into place by VQ. As the ruder, the elevators are only glued into place on one side.

Next, I started framing the canopy. First, I used the enclosed grey tape but removed it again after I had attched it. Instead, I painted the frame inside the canopy. See yourself.

After the painted was dry to touch Iput the aviator at his place and screwed the canopy on the fuse. It was the most fun.
Engine installation was another party. If you don not own a Dremel get on or choose another model. Ifollwed the instructions and screwed the engine into place w/o checking the fit of the cowling. Btw, the instructions claim that this plane may fly alredy with a 54 four stroke. Do not be fouled again. I thought I would add some punch and use a ASP61 FS instead. Later more about that.

Did the VQ fuel tank slide into place. No!
The tank that came with the kit was w/o pipes and looked nasty anyway, Ithrew it away and used a smaller one bought at the LHS.

Next disappointment, the holes for the wing bolts show no secure bonding between wing sheeting and filling.

Another 15 EUROSfor a precise spinner. The yellow VQspinner is made to ruin the ball bearings of your engine.

Almost ready, engine installed, RC istalled. (Sanwa RDS 8000, Servos HS 311 on ruder and elevator, HS 75BB retracts, JR 677 ailerons.)
I put a Sanyo RC 1700 Rx batterie just behind the fire wall. CG at 80mm.

How does the Royal Navy Sea Hurricane look like in an Atlantic rain shower?
Great!
(Yes, you are right, the gap between wing and the wing fairing is another VQ trademark. Altough, the starboard side is just fine.)
I mentioned the RN, the 61 size Hurricane has the letters printed on the fuse. When I discovered the empty spots on the 46 size is was realy disappointed. One of the reasons I got the Sea Hurricane was the Royal Navy nameplate.
On the flying field some chaps were talking about Battle of Britain than Iput here out and I had to correct them. "No, it´s not a RAFHurricane, it´s an RN Sea Hurricane. Ihate playing the schoolmaster.

Yes right, you want to know who she flies?Well, the ASP 61 FS does certainly get her off the deck. But with almost 3kg (on the box VQ claims minimum 2,5kg) is too much for that size of an engine.
Furthermore, due to the high wing loading she has very bad power off stall charakteristics. The wing tips are rather narrow that might not help the fact that you have to be very careful at landings. Actually, she flipps over w/o warning.
Thus, Iremoved the retracts again in order to save weight and droped the Sanyo RC 1700 Rx batterie as well. In addition, I ordered a more powerful engine (TT 75S) to have some power left for higher climb rates and aerobatics.
That said, I hope see will have a second chance.
Intermediate conclusion:
For the money spent on retracts and a new spinner I should have bought a Kyosho warbird like the P-40, Spitfire or Kawasaki. But since my buddies already have got these planes I thought I should try something else. Great mistake.
Actually, if someone would ask me about this particular VQ plane I could only reply "Get a Kyosho Spitfire, write Royal Navy on it and call it Seafire. And be happy".
Conclusion:I should have got the Kyosho "Seafire".

I didn't like the black and brown covering very much so I stripped it down to balsa and fiberglassed and used Koverall.
Then airbrushed it,
The weathering is a little too much. But since I put it on top of the clear coat it will wear in very nice after a couple trips out to the field.
