Mick Reevse 1/4 Spitfire first flight
And what a flight it was, very little trim needed. Ok what has she got,
Engine 3W80XI
Prop XOAR 26x10
Reeves landing gear
This has to be one of the best planes iv had. just a cooling problem that I have and she will hit the skys again.

Congrats Funfly...I love this plane, and yours looks great. Unfortunately, I lost mine on #7 flight when the spinner departed and cleaned off the left wing panel. I sure hop to build another some day. how did you attach the bottom chin of the cowl?....always an interesting topic!

Congrats on the flight !!.......Beautiful looking model.
How have you ducted the cooling ?..........can you provide pics of the venting.
I am build a 96" in Spit with a 3W53 and as the engine will be almost fully enclosed I'm hoping to provide cooling by way of a electrical ducted fan motor behind the cylinder head exhausting hot air out of the read of the fuse

Hi Guys, Thanks, The bottom chin is held on with six bolts and pins. as for cooling, if you came see the letter B in the front of the cowl, thats all open. and at the bottom of the air scoop. right now im looking at closing off the the front of the chin right in front of the head, and then running ducting along each side and out the back, Im think that should work as that will give me air running right at the head and out.

Funfly, That is what i'm planning to do on my Brian Taylor 1/5 Spitfire. (Using the black circle/letter trick) Remember though, it isn't how much air you have going in it is how much you get out. Look at a Mustang chin scoop. It is fairly small, but it will let in enough air to cool the engine. You just have to get it out. Yes a baffle will help alot. Just make it tight.
Later,
Kelly
BTW, You have a beautiful Spitfire, Wish mine was that big.
