Another Byron Corsair is ready for takeoff!!!
Here is my latest Byron Corsair that I just finished upgrading. I did not build this, a gentleman in NE. Craig Sparks, did. This was last flown around 9 years ago and has all new airlines , valve and tank, retracts have been overhauled, wheel hubs reinforced and painted. Aluminum tubing spar installed in the stab, new gas tank, fuel lines and brand new Brisson 4.2 with purpower mount and 3 blade prop. The plane weighs 29 lbs. I know the 3 blade doesn't perform like the 2 blade but I can't resist trying it. Plane is balanced , engine has been test run and set, plane has been range tested. All new batteries Should be airborne shortly.
Thanks,

Tony, I'll give you a heads up.
Barry, this is the 6th or 7 th. Byron Corsair I have owned. I fly them and then sell them and then kick myself for selling it. I ask around and usually end up with another one. They fly awesome and look pretty scale for my purposes. I haven't competed in years and now enjoy flying at Warbird flyins.
Later,
Fred

Looks nice !
Have fun..
A guy in our club flies one with this 3 blade set up. Actually, it sounds very cool, and flies the plane well enough. Takes a bit to get up to speed, but once it going, it goes just fine.
I've nicknamed the prop - the "Flexi" prop. These do not hold their shape and you can see them moving at slow speed. AT high RPM, they flatten out a bit and go.
My Byron P 51 with the 4 blade really flexed ! And didn't fly the plane as well as this...
Good Luck !
Jim
ps - I fly with a Mejlik 3 blade.. it works well, but isn't quiet as scale looking..

Well, what's the story, Fred?!?!
Did she fly today?
Hope it went well. Byron's are great flyers, so I'm sure is was a walk in the park, especially for you, buddy.
Post some "in action" photos if you got any today.
Best,
Noah

RE: Another Byron Corsair is ready for takeoff!!!
I have a Byron Corsair ~ 12 years old . It hasn't flown in 10 yrs.
I want to replace the fuel tank, radio, servos, air system tec.
What replacements / up-garades would you recommend?

Hi Fred, I am new to the site and have a Byron 1/4 scale Corsair that I started back 15 years ago. I sold the engine to a pilot from Venizewalia
at the old JETS OVER DELAND yearley event because he could not have one sent to his country.
Now I have moved to the Fl panhandle and need an engine for it. What kind of power do you recomend and how can I get one.I am an old Navy flat top Carrier man and love the aircraft. I would like to finish it before I die and see it fly.Best regards, Ken Basso
