Wow didnt know they made a 100 inch. that gt 80 should do fine for that bird, but if you can get a da 150 in it that would be a screamer.

Where Can I Buy A DA 150 In England I Only Stumbled On My Plane Because When I Was In The Shop Looking For Something Big The Man In The Shop Said The Biggest I Have Is A Yak Or The B25 Witch Has A 95 Inch Span And I Did Not Fancy Them So He Had A Look In He's Cattalog And There Was Some Bigges In That Book A P51D With A 120 Inch Wingspan And Don't Forget Thease Planes Are All Wood So You Have A Lot Of Work To Do And They Take Time To Build But At The End Of The Build When You Fly It You Get A Great Feeling Inside Knowing You Have Built It From Scratch And The Outher Good Thing About Wood Planes Is That You Can Put All Your Eqipment In As You Go.Well B.F.N ..EDDIE

EDGAR STORM,
You are hilarious........[sm=lol.gif] Since reading your post, I've learned a whole new way of interpiting the english language. Good luck on your giant build. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can fit that DA150 in the cowl of the P-51D[X(]................

Can't wait to hear back from ya..................

Oh, one last thing, Order the Top Flite Giant Scale P-47 in the kit form...............You'll have fun, it's a great build and a beautiful Warbird, once completed. Only an 85" inch wingspan but trust me, she's a big girl, I know, I built one. Order a G-62 Zenoah or a Desert Aircraft DA85 if you like to go real fast, and you'll have a fun Warbird that flies great and looks like a Warbird.

JUST MY 2 CENTS..................CAPTAIN RON

Does anyone know what the weight difference between the supplied fixed tailwheel and the recommended robart retractable tailwheel is? (I did not weigh my fixed tailgear when I mounted it).
The fixed 1.45 oz,
the Robart 1.74oz

Both with a Sullivan Sky lite wheel.

Do you have any suggestions? The Mounts are flat and the cowl is oval (kind-of)...............
I have used the pads and rubber washers on my Extreme Flight Yak and Edge 540 for over a year no cracks yet, but the mounts are flat against the cowl sides that are also flat.
Thanks
Steve
As mentioned before, sand the mountings wings a little to archive the shape of the cowl. For blind nuts (they are designed for furniture - as a one time application) I use stainless steel allen head bolts. The blind nuts don't hold tolerances very well, that is the reason for many lost bolts. Now you have a blind nut and a Chinese bolt, this bond is not made in heaven. The stainless steel, most 4-40, are more precise. Guess you get my drift.

Thanks.

I have set mine up nose-heavy, so the 0.29oz difference in weight will not be an issue for the balancing.

Thanks for your advise, However Extreme Flight, Wild hare and Aeroworks all use metric screws and blind nuts to hold their canopy and cowls. I have built and flown them for 3 years now , never lost a bolt using the rubber backed washer and blind nuts.

Guys.........FYI

I ordered a J'tec JTC-DA50WPTF muffler for my DLE55. The exhaust tubes are about 1 and a half inches short of clearing the bottom of the cowl. I called J'Tec , they are sending me the same muffler with extended exhaust tubes.

I use exterior latex house paint. I have it mixed at home depot. I primer it then shoot just 1 good coat on it. Here is my last project finished in latex.
