LOOKS GREAT TERRY,
I remember seeing it perform at WOTR.............Flies as good as it looks. I'm gettin there with the arf. I too think I'm gonna go ahead and get the RTC after my next arf project which is the 85" ESM Corsair. Will go with the Razor back kit also. Your new Project is coming along nicely.

The posts of your razor back are awesome. What are you using to spray the latex and was there much weight gain from the original ARF

I use exterior latex house paint. I have it mixed at home depot. I primer it then shoot just 1 good coat on it. Here is my last project finished in latex.

Outstanding job. At first sight it looks like a fullblown scale project built from a kit, same level as many of the projects in the enormous thread on the P-47 elsewhere on this forum. Iam getting many great hintsfrom looking at your solutions. I like the mounting of the gastank, easing access to the engine boltson the inside of the firewall. What servo did you usefor operating the retract valve?

At one point i was using a standard servo, but now im using a hitech hs 85mg. I have got to get this bird done and then finish that spitfire you keep seeing in the background. I have been on and off that spit for 2 years now. I made a mold for the razor back off of a crashed kit p47 that G-Pete had. The easy bolt on razor back would not have been possible with out his contribution.

Question for TFarmer

Terry

Did you mount your pilot on the seat or directly on the cockpit floor, also what type of glue did you use? I'm being very cautious here. I don't want my pilot to become loose in the cockpit after I seal the canopy.

Thanks Again

Steve

On the floor. I started using clear RTV to glue my pilots in. I havent had one come lose after switching to rtv. i guess it absorbs the vibration. If you dont want to use screws i guess you could use rtv on the canopy aswell. I got the idea after a guy told m to use RTV on my air tanks. That stuff holds great.

I use RTV on a bunch of stuff too. It works great and absorbs vibration. I even use it for mounting ignition shut offs.

Thanks, I am using the same servo myself for the retract valve. The P-47 kit you mention that G-Pete had, would that be the award-winner that G-Pete built in the Wanderzirkus Rosarius colour scheme?I hear what your are saying about the spit-kit. I myself am buiding the Top Flite FW-190 D9 from a kit, and I really need to stop dragging my feet on that one.

Yes that is the airplane i made the mold off of. He lost it at an airshow in Houston 2 years ago. I sell the conversion kit on my web site. Pete lives just a few miles away from me. We flew together for years. Hes the type of guy who is always willing to help some one out.

This is all that was left of her but it was enough to make the mold.

Here is the process i did to make the mold if your interested.

I'm also doing the Razorback conversion with the molded piece from Terry. Will post pics when painting is done. I'm also going with the DA85 up front so I can swing a 4blade prop, planning to try Fuchs 21x11 from AI. What spinner nut did you guys try on the DA 85??

The fiberglass piece from Terry fits pretty well. The canopy from Tower fit well up front too, right over the fiberglass piece. Looks like I did not get a spinner nut with the ARF. Anyone know the measurements of the correct size spinner nut? I'm thinking of using the 1.5" size from Tru Turn.

If the spinner nut is missing I would call tower. Now if the kit was purchased 2nd hand you can buy the spinner nut from them. Go to he arf on the website and click on replacement parts.

The wing will fit on the build kit I have a customer who did that.
