Flaps look to have a pretty simple external hinge. I'm sure the ailerons are Friese type and they look to have an external hinge as well. I'll have to take a look at my plans but I would bet Jerry Bates shows the details on his Bearcat.

Here's a pic of how I did the flap hinges on my Bate's bearcat, they're pretty much scale.
The bearcat had freise ailerons and the pics that Chad linked to show a pretty good shot of how the hinge is below the aileron surface. Bates doesn't show the scale aileron hinges on his plans, they're a sport setup. I don't have any pics of mine yet, but I was going to make them freise type, but I didn't feel there was enough of a lever arm if you keep the pushrod inside the wing, so I just made a sport type with robart hingepoints buried about a half inch into the leading edge.

looking good !!!! you should be glassing this cat next week .. Lots of gear trouble with sequece valve and air bleeding onmy end ! If I can finish gear I can prime RareBear
