B-17 Flying Fortress
Recently I had a Ground tour and a walk inside of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Aluminum Overcast" at my local airport. So, I thought I'd share some pictures of it for those who are interested. It was really a cool experience. I got a chance to do a walk around and take as many pics for as long as I want, plus walk up inside the plane for only 5 bucks ! Best 5 bucks I'll ever spend

Thanks for sharing. I too have had the chance to get inside of a number of old warbirds including a B-17 and B-25. As you say it's definatley worth the $5.

What??? You did'nt take the flight??? And you call yourself a scale modeler!! I flew in Fuddy Duddy which has Elmer Fudd on the nose. Damn, that was a long time ago, but I'll never forget it.

RE: B-17 Flying Fortress
I got to hang out with Aluminum Overcast for about 5 hours when it was here in Minnesota. They sold out of tickets for tours and rides even after extending the hours. It's great to see such interest in the old warbirds and I hope to see them back around here soon.

RE: B-17 Flying Fortress
Your welcome, such a beautiful plane needs to be shared. That must have been very cool Stuka Barry ! I never said I was a scale modeler, I'm not into the BIG, scale birds, yet. A good friend of my dads is building a 1/4 scale Corsair and hes documenting it here on RCU. I hope to someday. I don't think that a flight would be very realistic considering I'm only 13, a flight one day would be so cool ! Although, I have flown a Cessna 172 before under the instruction of my Uncle (He's a Certified Flight Instructor in Ottumwa, IA) Lets just say, I come from a very long line of Aviators on my Dads side. BTW - cstevepeterson, which B-25 did you have a chance to look in ? The B-25 is one of my favorite warbirds (one of the many )
