And because its electric probably explains the missing main gear in the second photo (mean i know, must have run out of electricity...)

On a serious note im inclined to say it might be a blown up ziroli...

Alright Graham,
I got a PM back and the post is answered too. Franz Schmidt was not the builder nor the pilot. He was assisting at the maiden flight, he was resposible for the ajustable pitch on the four-blade propellers.
The pilot for the maiden flight was Ralf Dvorak, the builders name is Aloys Zimmermann

here is his homepage [link=http://www.bastelzimmi.de/]click here for Aloys hmpg[/link]

I just PM you the e-mail address of Aloys - sent him an e-mail and when you need translation knock on my door.

Keep us posted on that project!

Hi Pete,
You da man!!! a big thank you for that.

Yes I'm going to build ether the big P61 which is my favourite big twin or an all chromed up Mitchell just like my P38 or I should say was my P38, she is now Sold!! so the founds are going towards the P61 or Mitch,
Its all down to the Scale, been looking at 1/4 on both but might just be to big!!! so the 1/5 size is looking Good, what do you think???

Pete here is another thing you might be able to help on, I'm in the process of doing the 1/4 scale Wildcat for Scott P, and we have been trying to find another Chrome/ Metal finish for her, this all started when I found this pic of a plastic kit, which is done out in the Grumman Demo Plane Scheme, but we cant find any more on her, can you help?

And Another is, after have done Scotts F4f I'm going to repaint an 18ft B17 for a customer!!! and yes more Chrome, he wants to do this in A BIT O LACE scheme but is open to other all metal schemes, what cha got!!

Hi Texan, thanks for the pics on the p61, yes if you have any more that would be great.

Cheers Graham.

I think too, the 1/5 scale is large enough - big' 'ole bugger

The only picture what i found in natural colors was this here
[link=http://1000aircraftphotos.com/APS/OtherSources/3739.htm]click here for 1000 aircraftphotos[/link]

Other then that this old lady don't like to strip - she is shown in all kinds of colors - but only ones naked...

Now we talking Jason,

the first picture shows how an airplane should look like. weathered, oil/exhaust streaks, peeling paint and uneven surfaces. I just hate sleek glossy fighters and bombers - not realistic looking.

Nice pictures

Hi J,
Great pics as normal, and as Pete says, you can't beat'em all dirty and used, so this is what were are going to do, don't suppose you got close up shots of all the lumps, bumps and of course the Rivets!!!!
The B17 should be coming home in a few weeks!!!
Jason you should put a thread up here about your new Museum, you will have tons of interest!!! I will try my best for next week.

Hi Pete yep thanks for the pic, yes there are not many in the o natural look.

Hi Texan, here is my mail,, [email protected]
