34 gram, 4 channel F4F Wildcat!
Got home form work taday around 4:30 PM. Sun goes down around 5:30 PM this time of year in the great white north. Kind of chilly, but no wind.
SO, I brought out my recently completed 34 gram, 2,4 GHz, 4 channel F4F Wildcat, and flew it several times IN MY FRONT YARD! Made a beautiful. carrier style landing on my paved driveway.
Looks like I'll be getting some stick time this winter, in my front yard.
OK, the rest of the story. While in Louisville, KY for a 2 day warbird event earlier this year, I stopped in a local hobby shop and purchased one of them there ParkZone Sukhois. Now just about everybody knows: I don't fly nuthin but warbirds, SO, even before I bought it: I had me an idea. Mid wing, taildragger, gear coming out of the fuselage (rather than the wings): could it be made to look like a Wildcat?
Well, here's the answer. With some water based paints and a set of decals for a 1/32 scale plastic model: here is the result:

Here is a link to the decal that I used:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1-32-CAM-Decals-...item5636f40e19
And here is an eBay search for all 1/32 Wildcat decals:
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=1/3...=p3286.c0.m301
Come to think of it: Battle of Coral Sea, of Battle of Midway markings would look pretty good. I chose the pre-war ones 'cause I;ve always wanted to do one with the yellow wings.
