I had a air tank burst at the stem one time. First time in as many times I've used them. Probably would never happen again but just in case that's why I make them removable.

Okay guys,
So after some excellent input from Boyd here are a few pix of the nose wheel. Had to do some major surgery and scarfing to get the gear close to Dave's plans but it's done.
I'm going to try and use carbon push rods for the elevator and rudder, wish me luck.
I have to find out what size engine is comparable to a super tiger 2500 as I have a 3000 and think it will be too large.

Hi guys,
Here are the latest pix of the build. Elevator pushrod installed, starting to sheet the back end.
Next will be to glass the elevators and rudder then on to fitting the wing.
Boyd, did you use blind nuts for the wing bolts or did you just thread the mounting blocks?

I guess you mean you threaded the blocks for the 4-40 nylon wing bolts.
Here is the color scheme I'm going to do even though I am a NAVY Vet
I have to hold off on glassing the elevators and rudder as the temp in the garage is about 80 at 6AM

Oh to be back on the East Coast, next week supposed to be between 110 and113 all week, Fathers day will be a comfortable 117 NOT!!!!!!

Hey guys,
Sorry for the delay but my ADD kicked in and my attention span was running about 10 minutes.
Here is a shot of the tail feathers, still need to put a drop of glue on all the rivets before moving on to finish sheeting the fuse.

Hey Guys, allow me to throw my 2 cents in here. I spent 20 years in the Navy as an AMS (Aviation Structural Mechanic). The first aircraft I worked on was the North American T-28 Trojan B and C models. I was stationed at NAS Whiting Field, Milton Florida. I spent just over two years there before being sent to the USS Midway, Yokuska, Japan. While working on the T-28, the pilots use to take us up on flights once in awhile, I even have 4hrs back seat stick time. She flies really nice and it's a time in my life I will never forget.
I also have the Dave Platt T-28 kitted by Pica. I may never build this kit but it's the only kit I have that I also worked on the real aircraft. Just a little nostalgia for me whenever I look at the kit.

Welcome aboard, feel free to throw a quarter in.
if you have the pica kit it must be at least 30 years old, I had bought a pica Cessna back in the early 80's.
you should also check out the avenger thread, there are some really great builders in that thread.
If not for Boyd I would still be stuck looking at the plans.
