Pandi 6 these are some of the pics of us at shows in PA, CT and NJ. I`m not new to this but true to this. Been flying since 1990, first warbird was a Jemco AT6 then a Sig quick build P51 in the early 90s. If you know anything about those 2 kits you then know any Meister warbird is a walk in the park. Along with the old TF kits before the gold edition and Pica. One can handle any of those then a Meister 109 is a breeze. I know there are some folks on these threads that blow smoke and hot air. Not I. I got my battle scares, yes sir.

Ok Zulu...you have some street cred. Thats good. Its the guys with the $100 ARF that act like experts that kill me. Have a few Meisters myself....won Best of Show and a few other things....not because they look good, but because I fly them. So I still stand behind my statement. NO plane has humbled me like the 109. Any time I think I have her figured out she suprises me with something. I am always on my toes with her.

Here is some video of me knocking the dust off one of my 109's....

IMHO the 3 top warbirds guys are Dino, Evan and Brian Young....and I have seen or heard about them stuffing some in. So David your in good company

Speak to Dino he knows who I am, he has seen myself and My buddy at shows in NJ and PA and we fly not just show up. Just got a spinner from him too for another 109. I`m not a big name but we are know by some because not too many black folks are in this hobby much less show up at shows. I am no expert but I can handle my own. Just ask him if he know Neville and Ed in NJ. We fly together.
So.................why not post some pictures of your work and video if you have any? Like my wife always tells me......"talk is cheap, lets see some action".

OOps, sorry Zulu. I posted before I read to the end. Thanks for the pictures.

Now thats a nice flying site, you guys have it good, runway as far as the eyes can see. Nice flying man thats whats it is all about. Can`t wait for this snow to go away here in the east. It is making me sick. Seem like there is a good Meister collection at your site , more the better.

You know David I think the one thing you need is more flight time... Get that old Yak out and put on 3 to 4 flights per weekend, or more. Yeah it does not fly like a warbird but it will nimble up your thumbs and your brain.

Through some bricks in the Yak. That will 'war bird' it up.

I just have to comment how beautiful that 109 is, i can appreaciate the amount of time and talent you put towards the building and finishing to the level you achieved. A good number of years ago i had a 60 some inch brian taylor 109e powered with a 120 fourstroke and while it flew and landed beautifully it was scary on take off. it would track straight on roll out but when the tail lifted it would swing hard to the left. i figured out the torque from the engine made it pull hard to the left when the tail wheel lifted and the small rudder was in a dead airstream because of the fuse.
Its your plane and you know how it wants to be flown, i just wanted to pass along a technique that worked for me. On my 109 during rollout i would hold a little up elevator and when it got to a speed below takeoff speed i would relax the elevator and the tail would pop up and catch the slip streem and track straight. It took some practice but it made the takeoff more predictable.

Keep your head up i know rita wil be back and will be better than ever.

After reading you guys post
I MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG
I test flew my Meister 109 yesterday
My first 109 always wanted one everything i read said to to beware the take off landing!!!!!!

Mine flew great
tracked on first take off by the end of the long run I had in FULL right rudder to keep straight
lifted offI dont release rudder until I have a little attitude 20 ft or so
First landing _Piece of cake
one of you guys mentioned touch and go like you MY FAVORITE MANUEVER
I did about 10 touch and go

I love this plane Meister was a genuis

ZDZ 60
home made muffler
20 x 10 3 blade
28 lbsI still dont believe that weight
Not the fastest plane at the field flies scale
plenty of power
no other plane I fly has the beauty and mean look of a 109
when it goes in (they all do eventually)
I will build another

Beautiful job on the 109. Congratulations on the the successful flights. Meister planes look and fly great, and last. Such a great track record and history. I couldn't agree more on your appraisal of them. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes it is Major Hermann Gaff JG 50 at the time of my rendition he had 172 kills
I still have his emblem and tail markings and few odd and ends to do yet
I got my documentatiuon of the 1 placement in "Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile"
Great book with a lot of not often seen schemes all types of fighters not just the 109
Interesting fact in the book
they have a little write-up about each pilot
most end with Killed in action
