Yeah I would like the FG21 but not sure if I want to spend that much on the engine.

I would suggest the Evolution 20GX 20cc (1.20 cu. in.) Gas Engine.

Bought one a couple of weeks ago. I think this will be my first gasser. Love the Razorback. Been waiting a while for one. Winter project for me.

Which gasser are you considering? I'm torn between the FG-17 (if its powerful enough to pull this plane), FG-21 or just sticking with glow and getting the FA-125

Hey Bob. To be quite honest, I haven't even thought of that yet. I have way too many things on the go right now. As I said, winter project. But I did have to have the plane NOW!!!!!!!!! Kids.... I mean me!!!! I guess I'm a "55 year old, 12 year old" Kind of happy about it though.

Good, we all should have at least one hobby to keep us feeling young!

I got this plane last week. Hope I can have it ready to fly this fall. I was thinking that this might be my first gas warbird, with an O.S. 22 or a DLE 20. Problem is I just love the four strokes I have in my other warbirds. Thought about the Saito 125 gas, but it is pricey. I am going to go with an O.S. 120 pumped or the Saito 125 glow.

Hey Bob!

Here is a video clip of the now discontinued Hanger 9 30cc P47D "Razorback". I wish I had not missed out on buying this bird! I bet you are glad you pulled the trigger on your new P47D, now you won't have to lament missing out on a great bird like so many of us do when they are discontinued!! Hopefully this video clip will inspire you to get going on your build thread and begin posting pictures before too long!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8rJjGxUIw8

Enjoy the video clip!

I'm just lazy I guess. Especially not knowing what people care about in a build log.

Bob,

Did you check out that video??

People mostly care about seeing how other people go about assembling a ARF or building a kit. It allows people to see what to expect in terms of difficulty or neat mods etc before they run out in get a similar model. Keep in mind Bob this is all fun! Not work! So post some pictures of your plane and what progress you have made so far. It has to be nearly done. Are you flying it yet?

Yeah I watched the video, and yeah I was afraid to let this one get away so I bought it.

I'm still a ways off from being done. Waiting on servos and engine to be delivered.

Ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevator and tail wheel are all set and thats all I've done so far

Hey Bob. DON'T WORRY ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE. I would love to see what you are doing. I am sure a lot of people will feel the same. Also don't worry about the so called RC enthusiasts that say this should be called an assembly. It's yours, call it what ever you want. Lets see what you are doing........

Bob,Did you go with the DLE 20? or the FG36 on this plane. A fellow flyer I know went with the DLE and wow, that plane really hauls! I will try and talk him into posting a youtube video. You should be getting your engine pretty soon I would imagine.

Hey Guys, I bought mine the other day from steve webb models here in the UK, just made a start...
A few pics for you all!!..

Like a few folks...I missed out on the 81" vers years ago, but I was not at that flying level then!!....my eyes popped out when I saw this had popped out from no-where, had to have one...love Razorback Jugs !!
Before I started I went overboard fuel proofing, then I double sealed the firewall with epoxy..
I had an OS120E available sat on the shelf doing nothing...in it goes!!, that will satisfy my fourstroke lust.
I ordered the proper electric retract set for this & the optional scale suspension struts, these will be here next tues.
I have an esm scale pilot @ the ready & I did not use the mylar hinges, but opted for some Dubro proper hinges instead.
The flap hinges do not need replacing, they are great knuckle jobbies, I use pacer hinge glue to retain them all.
The extras you get in the kit are superb!!...full drop tank/bomb sets & the scale alloy nose spinner!...cool stuff. & machine guns too.+ scale wheels/tyres!!.

Glad to see that there is a forum on this model....mine came in this week and will pick it up today..got the EFlite retracts, and have a Magnum 120 4 stroke for it....also ordered the P-47 struts, but are not in stock,so will add them to the retracts when they are available.....Have a BF109 by Hanger 9 which I just finished up, so looks like I'll be flying a few Hanger 9 models next year...because of health reasons, have to hang it up (flying) until next year...Looking forward to next year......
