Hi Terry,
Mines not as unobtrusive as Oldtimer...
I replaced all controls with Dubro ones. Apologies I can't show a pic of it out of the packet... but the 'posts' that screw over the threaded rod sit on a curved 'seat' so that they sit square, no matter the angle of the rudder surface. I used similar ones for the ELE so have included a shot (first photo) of that so you can get the idea.
I also changed the push/pull wire for plastic coated 100lb tracer from a fishing store.

I have used fiberglass circuit board for my control horns with excellent results.
Cut to shape and epoxied in to the control surface.
Here are a couple of shots from an earlier project ... A Pawnee 235 ... pardon the fertiliser !!!
My plan is to replicate this installation on the Hurricane as it has been so successful.

Thanks to all who replied to my dilemma !!! lol
I will be going with the design style they have but will switch over to hardware from Dubro, much like Dragnhart.
They also have the pull pull cable like your talking about which I purchased and am now installing.
A couple of friends have been giving me some pointers and they parallel what you guys show me, so it is all good !!
One of my friends is building a 120 inch (I think) P-39 Aircobra and is actually putting the engine behind the pilot like the real one. He is using a reduction unit and is running the drive shaft to the propeller as like the real one. He is using the Jerry Bates plan.
Just thought I would taunt you with that one !!! LOL
If I can, sometime, I will try to put up a pic or two of his project.

I thought about posting on here about my friends P-39 project but am thinking better of it as it is not a Hurricane, so------------------.
I now have rivets on the wing, one side only, and am getting closer for painting it. As they say "one step at a time".

The first is his P-39 and the second is his Stuka with a GoPro attached to the Hriz. Stab. Doesn't look any more real than that. I will try to get some other pics of his P-39

They are both and there are several others here, very good. Chuck is very technical while Lee is adventuresome in his projects. Chuck is well known for his abilities, he is kinda like a Dave Platt in how he goes about the hobby, both highly skilled.

My maiden Hurricane flight did not end well, last week I took up the Hurricane up at the Gimli field. The DLE 35 ra was running nice, I pointed the Hurricane into the wind and off she went, nice climb out, 2 clicks down, one click right, cruising nicely at 5/8" power, balance bang on.
Three circuits, time to land and check for lose bits, I'm downwind with the gear down and 1/4" down flap, 3/8 to 1/2 power, about to left turn to the base leg when the Hurri rolls right over to the right and in she went, felt like my radio went dead for that split instance.
There was two flap servoes driving four pieces of flap, a metal tab joined the out flap to the inner servoe driven flap, I'm thinking this tab let go or one of the elevator servoes let go or an aileron servo or what ever - pissed me off!
A first look it seemed a total write off, but now that she's back in the shop, I can fix this. The fuselage is now 75% repaired, the DLE 35 looks ok, the Sierra gear look ok, so it's a winter rebuild project. cheers! - ken

I used a Bela 18x10 three blade on my DLE35R and it pulled the plane super!!
Must say, the repairs look pretty darn good. Aircraft looks a bit war weary as it should. I've decided to "fix" mine. got some 3/4 oz. cloth and will wrap the fuse to try and patch the egg shelling. 2 layers should do it. If THAT works I'll rebuild the wing. Loved the way the plane flew.

I'm terribly sorry Ray, I misled you. Check ed back in my log and found the prop was a Biela 17x8 3 blade, not at all what i mentioned...DOH. but for the record, THAT prop flew the plane super.
