Hello AZThud. After a bit of searching around my local area I have found a place that has your canopy in stock. Here is the link if you wish to check it out for yourself.

If you have any problems let me know. I have had past dealings with this company and I have an active account with them. I have purchased several esm items from them in the past.
Regards,
Trev.

So I picked up a like new one of these a few months back, been sitting, went to get it ready yesterday and find the firewall has a lot of flex inside the fuse, I can move the engine p/down very easy. I guess I'll need to add some reinforcement glass cloth and resin,,, A common problem?

Mine is almost back together, Chad Viech made a new front canopy section that will get mated to the rest of the rear canopy. Paint is drying, once I get it back together I will post a few pictures, then pack it for WOTR, hopefully the pilot will do better!
Regarding the firewall, mine was real stiff originally, my abuse made it very wobbly. I put some glue in the front around the plywood that ESM installed then I sister'd some ply on the front, below my motor box, this has it real stiff, so the gussets should work fine.
Paint is dry, the pictures are not the best, but all in all, it looks pretty good.
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback guy,, I'll check back in when I decide on a fix technique,
I'm leaning towards letting some west systems resin flow around the firewall, then add some ply piece around the perimeter of the firewall.
cool scheme Rick, I plan to re-scheme mine over the winter too.

Hi 'scale only for me'
A good fix for the bulkhead instability would be to layup numerous 3inch pieces of 4oz cloth around
the firewall overlapping each as you go - and laying up onto the side of the forward flank of nose
onto the wooden interior bulkhead.
Works a treat and really spreads the load in a uniform fashion...
happy landings.

Just couldn't see how I'd get cloth in there without making a huge mess, so I ended up using the epoxy/filler to fill the gap where the flexing was taking place, The West system slow hardener gives me about 45 minute pot life so mixed enough filler so it would flow like cold pancake syrup, took three 1/3 full Dixie cups. The self leveling action shows I added a little to much on the last application,, but oh well, it nice and stiff now. I guess it added about 4oz or so, not a big deal for this bird.
tnx for the tips guys, I'll add to the thread as I finish her up

Here are a couple of shots or my La-5 taken at Warbirds over the Rockies, it was a great event and I am sure a good time was had by all. I was lucky enough to win a trophy for the Best ARF bash with this one.
Thomas we will be talking soon about a canopy
Cheers

All,
Fit a DLE 30 up front and you wil not need any extra ballast if keepingto the standard build.
Doing thiswill Keep the model relatively light without lack of performance.
At a 'reasonable weight' this will be the sweetest landing warbird many of you will have ever flown.
Happy Landings.

Xtra230...
Have the CG 10mm forward of the book initially - and make changes
once familiar with the model ( if you need to!).
My throws are far less than suggested apart from Rudder where I have
max travel for takeoff/landings and flap where I have as much as I can get
which is @80degrees....landing flap (with approx 20degree takeoff).
Be careful with the full flaps as this model will fly very very slowly but eventually
will bite of course! NOTE - Always use full flaps With Adequate Power ON never
Power Off ( stating the obvious maybe but easy to forget at times).
Happy landings

Hey Guys,
Just picked up one of these from VQWarbirds. Now I'm trying to find a good scale spinner for it. Checked with Ty and he doesn't make them any more. Gene has some but it will cost about $80 shipped. This isn't terribly bad but the spinner comes uncut. I don't have the proper tools and/or experience in cutting a spinner. Hate to screw up a $80 purchase.
The MPI ones seem to be too long and narrow. Does anyone know of another source for a scale or semi scale spinner for the LA7?
Looking at other ESM spinners, it looks like the DO-335 spinner could be a decent alternate:

Or how about the ESM Hawker Sea Fury spinner:
