As a back plate I used some aluminium plate from spinner which you can buy. You can see the kind of spinner in the picture.

It sounds like a barbarism to use a spinner from Bf-109 on La-7 or some another Soviet aircraft..

Hi Prekin,

I will be maidening it in a few weeks.... The weather is just getting back to flying weather here and the LA-7 will fly soon. I have a DR-1 and a Pfalz to maiden plus a couple others to re-maiden after some changes.... All in all about 6 new projects to tune and test this spring !!

I promise I'll post photos of the LA-7 as soon as I can.

I´ll write you the diameter in the friday evening. But I found some pictures and compared the diameter of the spinner and space for the engine.

My LA-7 is officially ready to maiden.

The new G38 has been a handfull. First the magneto/flywheel gap was too big, then the black carb insulator was cracked and was causing tuning problems. Now everything is tightened up and ready to go.

I also thought you guys would like to see my landing gear plate I made so the LA-7 can sit in my trailer a little easier.

OK... that is not finished..... Ya gotta skuff it up a bit. Make it look like it's been in the war like this..
Believe it or not, that's just some number 2 pencil lead rubbed into the covering and panel lines....

Look what showed up on my doorstep today! UPS tried their best to break it, but everything inside is in good shape. This one will have an XYZ 53 and HK electric tailwheel and mains.

Heck ya Radfordc! I love the xyz 53 in mine. That motor rips and has run like a dream (since I had the ignition replaced). Just make sure you give the motor some right thrust, 1 degree of down thrust on the horizontal stabs, and whatever else has been mentioned in this forum. I didn't do those things cause I thought I would be ok without doing it. Nope. 3 crashes later I made all the adjustments (and some airbrushing) and now it flies great. It's a show stopper anywhere you take it!
