So, "lightning" does strike twice. I guess I've got to come up with another question. Give me a bit and I'll see what I can come up with

I would have had it on clue 5 as I met a guy who flew in the P-38 Squadron when Lucky Lindy shot down a Jap airplane.
St X I am familiar with as well. I wasn't aware about Jimmy Doolittle but heck he could fly the box most planes came in.

Okay guys, here's another daily double. Most of you are familiar with the A- and B- designation for the many USAAF multi-engined attack planes and bombers such as the A-20 Havoc and B-26 Marauder. There were two single engined ground attack planes(that I know of) ordered by Army as well. I need their AAF name, designation and what they were based on. For extra credit, what changes were made to the basic designs. Some may figure this out without any clues so I'll give you all a shot at it before I give the first clue. Hope this one isn't too hard

I don't think this one will go very long. Still... A good question; but I'm thinking an early night. And to quote Yoda: "There is another". Thanks; Ernie P.

The A-25 Shrike never saw combat so it doesn't actually qualify. The A-31/35 Vengeance was built for the RAF and RNFAA, so it doesn't qualify either. The two aircraft I'm thinking of both saw combat with the USAAF. I guess this one was too simple after all

Hydro Junkie asked me to handle this for him, as he's out of town. The two planes he was looking for are indeed the A-35 and the A-24, so JohnnyS is up. Uncljoe's other two planes were good answers, too, just not quite what Hydro Junky was after.

(The "extra credit" for changes to the basic designs was for dive brakes on the A-35 and the absence of a tailhook on the A-24.)

I'm assuming you meant A-36 and not A-35.

OK, here's a new one: This should be REALLY easy!

1. First flight 1958.
2. 5 aircraft completed before program was cancelled.
