Not the Gotha either

1 - This warbird started as a glider design.
2 - Started life with 2 engines added 2 more in midlife
3 - This Aircraft needed the 2 extra engines to compete in an inter-service 'pissin contest' (its the only way I can describe it)

You got it JohnnyS
This bird has become the poster boy of the Agent Orange debates. It was also the Air Forces answer to the Armys use of the C7 Caribou, a battle the Army lost unfortunately

Cool question! Thanks.

OK, here's a new one:

1. One prototype and two production aircraft were built.
2. Was intended for naval use in a very specific role, although it never did serve in that role. It did operate from large warships.

psb667, you got it! Nicely done!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Besson_MB.411 Originally intended to be a spotter and reconnaissance aircraft for the "Surcouf". That was a weird French submarine intended as a "submarine cruiser" armed with two 8 inch guns (!!), launched in 1929.

There was some *weird* stuff being built between the wars.
