Nothing funnier than watching her talking to the pig and understanding every little grunt. Too bad the pig was the smartest character on the show.

Just had a thought, does this make me an "old geezer" if I remember that show?

I remember that show being first run, as a spin-off from The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction...
At 55 I am of "advanced age" according to the Social Security system...but I prefer to think of myself as a "middle-aged geezer"

And since you're a few years older than me, I guess I'm a "middle-aged geezer" too. Loved the Eva Gabor clue, not too many would have figured out you were referring to Hungary unless they knew the show.

Not at all. Know if your Saturday mornings were spent watching Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Kit Carson or really old if Hopalong Cassidy and ancient if U listened to Tom Mix. or the Lone Ranger on radio. We in the Milwaukee area had HD back in the late 40's early 50's. The HD stood for Howdy Doody. Then the Mickey Mouse Club with Annette of course. Old is relative for sure.

I remember seeing a lot of those as a kid, most on second and third runs. Always thought Annette was cuter in the movies with the longer hair, the short look just didn't seem to fit for some reason

Ahem..... Nuttin' but net! Sorry, proptop; but I couldn't resist. I hope this next question can at least rival your's. Thanks; Ernie P.

Question: What warbird armament do I describe?

Clues:
  1. This weapon was designed for a very specific purpose, and to fulfill a very specific role.
  2. At its heart, it was a rather simple weapon. And therein lay its greatest strength.

Old? Maybe. I can remember when we first had electricity installed. Only one bulb, in the living room; later with an outlet adapter that screwed into the bulb receptacle, after granddaddy bought a radio. It would have been the first one in the neighborhood; except there was no neighborhood. Nearest neighbor was a mile away. I can remember the neighbors coming from far and wide to listen to "The Shadow", "The Lone Ranger" and "Amos and Andy". Good days; simpler times; and sometimes I miss them. Thanks; Ernie P.

Unfortunately:
1) times have changed
2) technology has advanced
3) people have forgotten how to use their imagination
4) smart phones have become the average person's go to for anything that requires the slightest use of the brain, hence the onset of alzheimer's in millions of people

No correct answers thus far, although a couple of interesting ones. Here's a couple of morning clues to get things on track. Thanks; Ernie P.

Question: What warbird armament do I describe?

Clues:
  1. This weapon was designed for a very specific purpose, and to fulfill a very specific role.
  2. At its heart, it was a rather simple weapon. And therein lay its greatest strength.
  3. Tests indicated it would be very effective in its intended role.
  4. Actual combat indicated the true effectiveness was as intended.

Napalm Bomb: It is a mixture of a gelling agent and petroleum or a similar fuel. It is believed to have been formulated to burn at a specific rate and to adhere to surfaces to increase its stopping power. During combustion, napalm rapidly deoxygenates the available air and generates large amounts of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.[SUP][3][/SUP]

No correct answers thus far, but some very thoughtful and knowledgeable answers. How about an afternoon clue to narrow things down? Thanks; Ernie P.

  5. It wasn’t only very effective; it had a shattering effect upon the enemy aircraft upon which it was used.

Sir; you have a piece of the answer, specifically one of the weapons system referred to in clues number 6 and 7. However, these weapons systems utilized the weapon which is the answer to the question. I hope that makes sense. Thanks; Ernie P.
