I'm going to help out someone on this. I'm pretty sure it's not an American pilot since, AFAIK, pilots all had to be officers, which applies to this day. Then again, to be a RIO or ECMO, you have to be an officer since using the weapon systems is considered an act of war and that must be authorized by an performed by an officer. Japanese pilots were both officer and enlisted, don't know about the Europeans

A sergeant pilot was anon-commissioned officer who had undergone flighttraining and was a qualified pilot in the air forces of several Commonwealth countries before, during andafter WorldWar II. It was also a term used in the United States Army Air Forces, wherethey were commonly called flying sergeants. AfterWorld War II, non-commissioned pilots began to be phased out and today all airforce pilots are commissioned officers.

The United States Army Air Forcesoriginally favoured officer pilots and the few enlisted pilots were usuallycivilian-qualified. The adoption of transport and strategic bombing missionsmeant that a larger number of pilots were needed to perform monotonous andgruelling jobs. Officer pilots were usually assigned to fly fighters andfighter-bombers and commanded units. Enlisted pilots usually were assigned tofly light reconnaissance and artillery-spotter aircraft, cargo aircraft, andmedium- and heavy-weight bombers.
The Flight Officer Act of 1942created the warrant officer rank of flight officer. All enlisted pilots werepromoted to that rank and the rank of flight sergeant was discontinued. Theflight officer rank was cancelled in 1945 due to there being adequate numbersof commissioned pilots.
The United States Navy and United States Marine Corps had severalprogrammes to train civilian pilots and enlisted personnel to become navalaviators. There were also programmes to train enlisted men to serve as enlistedpilots to fly torpedo and dive bombers, transport and reconnaissance planes,and airships.
