If you want an 80+" inch P-51, theres already a few out there. The TF 84" ARF and another one from Aeroworks. Company is known for 3D planes but made an 86" or so fiberglass almost turn key P-51 made for a 50CC.

Yes but both the top fite and the aeroworks Mustangs are not composite/molded and the Aeroworks is $1800. I would buy a 50cc Mustang from these guys in a heartbeat, especially if they designed it to accept both their retracts and Sierra retracts and it was priced with their spitfire.

I'd like to see a 50cc size FW190 and P47 Razorback please. I hope your 50cc size corsair will have decently low wing loading to make life easier for some of us. And if you plan to put out another mustang, please consider B version and make it bigger. I have a couple DA 85cc that could go out of 3d planes and put into a "Zirolli" size 96" warbird.

Is the wing of the Spit a 1,2 or 3 piece?

The aeroworks P-51 is $1800 because its already got the retracts installed PLUS a tail wheel retract installed. Its not a separate purchase. Plus....it has 99% of the work done already.....

Pre Installed Main Gear Retracts
Pre Installed Retractable Tail Wheel with Gear Doors
Pre Installed Air Tank, Air Lines and Sequencer
Pre Installed Inner and Outer Gear Doors
Pre Installed Tail Wheel Steering

Complete High Quality SAE Hardware Package Included
Adjustable pushrods with centering nut
Machined aluminum engine stand offs included
Professionally covered in ULTRACOTEâ„¢
Pre-Hinged from factory (Ready to Fly) No gluing
Scale Lines with Custom Cockpit
Pre Mounted Fiberglass Cowl
Pre installed and fuel proofed engine box
Laser cut engine mounting templates provided
Custom Throw Meter Included
Extra Ultracote covering provided for small repairs

Now...I agree that its expensive.

But the thing is after all that, it still has a monokote finish, the first thing that hits the eye. On the Aeroworks P-51 you still need to purchase the motor and install it to the specific manner necessary for that motor. Receiver and components for onboard power, switches and still there will be a myriad of items that we normally dont account for in the final finishing of a model to get it flight ready. its easily another grand over the price which would bring it to nearly if not beyond 3K. When aeroworks began campaigning the arf at shows they were telling people it would be in the neighborhood of 12 to 14 hundred which I already thought was up overpriced for the size of this model. With the included and installed retracts and hardware, sequencer and all I would say it shouldnt be retailed over 13 hundred tops. The demo plane at their shows had same features as the $1849 dollar arf. I think shipping is a hundred bucks.

Tisoy909..at 1800 yep its expensive, but a 50cc motor can be had for $240. Servos etc are not going to run another $1000. Even the 80" H9 1.50 size P-51 ultimately comes out to about $1500 even though the arf itself only ran $400.
Just Charlie1960 was asking for a P-51 over 80" and I dont know if was aware of this one or not, thats all.
Im sure ESM will make an 87+" P-51 since they are doing the 89" Spitfire at some point. Most arf makes always make a p-51 in whatever size scale they do other planes in.

Im not championing this plane at all. I think your 100% right that its overpriced. I also remember it being campaigned demo-wise at warbirds over the rockies for a price of around 1200-1400 in 2008. Then in 2009, same plane, now was sitting at 1800+ for sale.

Well I will just hope that these new 80+ inch line of ESM planes will supercede what we would find in an aeroworks arf. I do know that us being esm plane fans we will find ourselves happier than if we were buying an aeroworks equivalent, be it whatever model, even if not a mustang for now. The scale appearance is what attracts all of us to these planes anyways, and not the way the esm kits go together, i think you would agree. we are more of the kit builder types after all knowing how these kits go together. So maybe thats why my bias to the esm stuff is understood differently than an aeroworks customer might have. Because I know when said and done, appearance and component quality speaking, i will have a better plane when spending the same amount or less than the aeroworks. Anyways, when is an 89 inch esm FW190 coming out? hehe. I'm Focken waiting for that.

in referance to an over 80" mustang, i think the term done to death comes to mind, its not even been mentioned, but there is always next year, cards full this year, the spit is a 2 piece wing, composite fuzz, built up wing and tail, why the spit? simple, there arnt any at this size, apart from the yellow, and that, as good as it is, is a mk14, and not an artf, i know one is done, but have not included it,

regarding the wing loading of a corsair, that wing is massive, i would not worry, its the P40 i am waiting for, i havnt even recieved the cads for it yet!!!

theres plenty more too come i think you will all be delighted with our choices

If ESM comes out with a composite 81-89 inch mustang that looks good (pretty close to scale) and flies good and accepts Sierra retracts directly, and if they price it with their Spit Aeroworks will have a hard time selling ANY of their mustangs. Nothing against Aeroworks - I have seen some Aeroworks planes and they have some very good planes. They will also give Top Flite some serious competition.

Of course I have given ESM a list of tough things to do here. If they don't meet my list they are not going to sell so many planes. But with good people selling their planes they will do ok.

Actually i think allied planes in general are overly done but i still love them. Honestly, I would say a Spitfire model is as much overdone there in the U.K. as a Mustang is here in the States. There aren't too many nice giant scale axis fighter planes on the other hand, and i think there are more varieties to choose from than allied plane models as well. just wanted to make that point.

there is at least 1 over 80inch mustangs, there are no MK9 spitfires, there is now, as for making a stang, we have better fish to fry which reminds me, i must get my nealry finished Pica one out the loft, its time it was done

Who sells this over 80 inch composite mustang? If you are talking comp arf their mustang is a project plane and few will buy it and take the time to finish it. You see a lot of them resold on the market later.

I totally agree with the MK 9 Spit that is a great move. That spit is the best looking spit mark in my opinion .

I really like the looks of the Spit. It is really exciting to see this size being produced now. I really would like to see an FW 190 as well but a D. I would save my quarters for that one for sure!

Id be good with a FW-190 D9 as well thats over 80+". Would sure save money on the motor since Id have no reason to use a radial since it wouldnt be scale.

Give me a nice 80"+ Dora anyday... Just make sure the retracts are good! Even if I have to buy from Shindin or Sierra...

Cartoon scale plastic fantastics have been done to death YES

In ARF form 80" + Spits, Stangs, Zeros and you name it with a decent scale outline AND with moulded fuse etc have NEVER!! even really seen the light of day.

Ive been in the hobby for over 30 years now ESM and KMP are the first to offer some nice sized and decently finished and priced classic ARF moulded warbirds. It amazes me that I keep hearing that the P-51, Spitfire Me-109 etc have all been done to death???? There is a huge market still begging for quality offerings of 80" + P-40, P-51, FW-190, Zero, Me-109, F4U and the rest, thank god for ESM and KMP.

So for the naysayers I challenge you yet again to start the supposedly 'long' list of done to death examples of quality ARF composite 80"+ warbirds out there and please prove me wrong....

1. Yellow Aircraft Spitfire and P-40
2. ?
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?
