Hey Casino, With a total of 76ccs and a 54 lb airplane, You may be able to take off and land. You will have to be careful of turning too sharp because it will fall like a brick if you get into trouble. The full Scale B 25 had huge huge engines. Are you thinking of huge engines for your model? If not, you will have a scary flying SLUG. Will it stay in the air if you loose an engine?, only in a dive. If your pocket book wont allow bigger engines that's another discussion for another time. Whats great about Twins is that the engines are close to the CG, as opposed to hanging the horse out front as far as it will go. This means you can pile more weight on the wings and still be able to balance your plane. Most Modelers talk about over powering their models. What a bunch of CRAP. I'm glad the people that designed the full-scale birds didn't share their theory. Put in the biggest and most powerful engines that will fit and if some of it hangs out of the cowl good, it looks cool. When you calculate wing loading you will find out what is too much. The Racing crowd which includes me, are flying Warbirds that can weigh 40-50 lbs. My Stiletto has a 79 inch wing and is 89 inches long. I am running 280 ccs 35 HP. The Stilettos will float in with a small breeze. If I had a Liberator with that big wing, I would want at least 125 ccs on each wing. Then you would have all the people at your club hanging out in your pit area, because you might have the only Hot Rod they have ever seen. The Warbirds were and still are "Hot Rods". Nothing we build today whether its private or factory built, can touch the Prop Driven War Birds, No one is even close, not even the Tsunami or the Lancair 360 Turbos. No one knows for sure what scale speed is on our Models, but if you model a HOT ROD and a 1/4 scale 1.20 Enya R powered clipped wing Cubby blows by your Twin you can holler; " but I'm flying at scale speed" If you can afford more than 38cc engines, but cant afford Dennis Crooks Alky powered "Husky Challenger" in- line twins he has mounted on each wing of his P 38, I would at least install a pair of G 62 Zenoahs and you will be able to do Loops. If you burn Alky you will have a Hot Rod and will be unbeatable at any event....Dick

Being and old top fuel and FC racer I can follow race44. The difference in weight between a G-45 and G-62 is not a lot. The G-62 is a bit thirstier however and you would probably have to run 20-10 3 blade props for ground clearance. Power wise as most say you can always throttle back. I think Z powers his twins with smaller motors so that they don't react as quickly with engine outs. Saftey valve. G-62 in the big B-25 will make it move pretty well but an engine out will most likely result in a disaster unless you have gyros. Even them it will happen only about 2 sec slower. [X(]

Just remember when the worst happens throttle back, nose down a bit, get control, head for the nearest straight ahead landing spot.....you did plan some escape landing areas didn't you??? Oh well you probably have lots of leftover building supplies to repair it.

We are going to go with G-45 on ours. It's knocking on the door of 50 pounds.
