I think the 190-D was recently moved from DC to Seattle for display. I bet there are more great planes in storage somewhere in the US that the government has tucked away and forgotten about. This one seems like a good candidate as it's close to you and you can get some good photos to help with documentation.

It's a nice scheme and would be a good choice. Put me on the list for one!

I haven't heard any info on the size / weight? Do you know anything?

Focke Wulf D-13/R11 now resides in the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA.
Prior to that it was in the Champlain Fighter Museum in Mesa, AZ.

No, there won't be any prototypes before then of anything other than what I mentioned. MAYBE, a picture of the color scheme Andrew will choose for the Dora.

I check "Fighters" at the Evergreen Museum in Oregon and there is no FW-190 listed. [&o]

Will we be able to order an un-painted Dora if we want? I will be at Toledo with Flying Models magazine and can't wait to see a prototype picture. Maybe I can hand you some money too!

I cannot recommend any paint jobs until we know if its an early or late Fw 190 D9, and which of the 5 gunhoods it has...

The D13 no longer is with the museum of Flight. It now resides at the Flying Heritage collection ( Paul Allen's ) at Paine field in Everett, Wash. Rad

My vote would be primer (white) Those german warbirds are just screaming for unique paint jobs!!!

I just hope they have contacted Darrell at Sierra to get the gear for the Dora.. He has great looking gear for the Fw's

hornplayer99,

FYI, no, they have not contacted SIERRA to get FW-190 gear from, so I am guessing
that all you FW-190 lovers will be flying your planes either on a set of
chinese made CR$P, or a set of Short, Skinny, Plain Robostruts.

I would Imagine that the planes are already started and it's to late to
change the Gear Mounts for a reliable and scale set of gear like the Sist FW-190 had.

Look how popular the Easytiger FW-190 is with tiny, non-scale retracts are. ( NOT )

You, the Customers, have the power to make it happen now. Let your vote be heard.
(I should have been a politician.)

Good Luck, I've tried.

Hey Gus,
Are ya'll to far along to talk to Sierra about gear for Fw190D? I have had bad experiences with the gear from China. It would be so much nicer to get good gear to start off with instead of listening to all the complaints after the D-9 comes out.

Robart would not have the drag link for the gear..They never had them on there gear before that i know of?

So Mr. Whine, are you telling us that the same paint jobs work on late and early model Fw 190 D9's and there are not different gun hoods for the D9?

You may be happy with a crappy paint job that doesn't belong, but the rest of us have better taste.

Yellow 10 is actually a D13, and would require a much different supercharger intake than the D9, a different cowl, and gun hood. Its a great paint job however.

And please! No JV44 "Papagei-staffel" birds. We see far too many of these attrocious paint jobs already!

Darrell already makes gear for the 80inchish 190s The Platt, Holman and Sis-T FW's are all about the same size and can use the same gear. I have his gear in my Sis-T and they are really good gear.

I agree with Evil that as simple as it is to add a paint job to a plane why not pick one that is actually correct. It's not like this is going to be a Scale Masters plane but the time to get things mostly right is in the preproduction stage. Lots of Doras that are very attractive to chose from depending on the Mk.

I learned recently that Andrew seems to be leaning toward a more colorful yellow tail replication. Not finalized yet.

Some yellow would be nice! It always helps seeing better with some yellow, red or white on the plane. Any scheme would be great. How about a desert camo scheme Not sure if the D model had this, but it looks nice on the A model.

Way too many options for a scheme on this plane.
