The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
Hello everyone, as of the Northwest Model Exposition in Washington State and the WRAM Show in New York, KMP has debued the new Signature series Warbirds with the first two planes being rolled out. As shown, the T-28 is modeled after a carrier plane complete with operational tailhook, and hidden switch panel for the switches and airvalves. The fiberglass composite is better than ever before and is uniquely light. The AT6 airframe weighs only 10 lbs before engine and radio. The big feature of both planes is they are designed to accept OEM Robart manufactured retracts. Wings are built up and covered in Solartex then markings installed and painted with a tough epoxy paint. The AT6 wings are removable for transportation, they just slide on and attach to the one piece fuselage and wing root. Easy Smeezy. The T-28's cowl is big enough to house the Saito 450. Specs are below.
T-28 Trojan;
Engine: 45-62cc
Wingspan- 81"
AT6 Texan;
Engine: 28cc-35cc
Wingspan-88"

Jmohn, the planes are moving out the door faster than we anticipated. The first shipment is almost sold out as a result of the shows. Heck, we haven't even got a marketable picture of the planes yet to put up on the website. You guys are seeing brand new stuff from our own manufacturer and they are KMP exclusive!. This IS NOT ESM product. The planes are available for preorder, deliverable mid to end of April.

Hi 800, The PC9 pics I won't post here because they are not Signature series planes. They come from yet a different manufactuer and will be considered our new Sport series. The PC9, the new PC21, PC6, and the L4 Piper will be catagorized in this classification. I will announce these planes in another thread when I get postable pics.

Hey Andrew, do you provide landing gear with that T-28?
Oh BTW - next time let a nice girl hold these planes
Girls and Warbirds perfect combo....

Hi G-Pete, not to burst the bubble, but I am not Andrew, The sidekick in Oregon.. I am the guy you call when you need technical and sales help from KMP. In answer to your question is yes. OEM retract systems designed for these planes will be readily available close to the same time of delivery for the planes. They will however, be manufactured by Robart and not the Chinese. I believe that Darrel at Sierra will also jump this horse and start providing his own system. After we discovered that the Saito 450 will fit in the cowl, we went back to the drawing board with Robart to design a heavier nosegear to support that 6.5 lb. engine. The T-28 really delivered the wow factor at the Northwest Model Expo with that Saito and a Solo adjustable pitch prop installed in it...

So, what makes these Signature Series different than the ESM stuff from the past?
Do you have any images inside the fuse (formers), or the wing structure before being covered?
That looks like the ESM factory behind Andrew... but then again, most buildings/factories in China look the same...

I assure you these planes are not ESM, not even close. Andrew has a slogan associated to his Business, "Models of Distinction" I will not be drawn into the dirty laundry between us and ESM again, This is truly Andrew's design that is unique to us. You will not see these planes available anywhere else and they are superior in every way. I personally have had my hands on the prototypes and was amazed at the glasswork. We own the molds, Andrew has invested above the call to bring to the American modeler a better class that will be affordable.

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
I,m going to call KMP tomorrow and get on the list for a AT-6.
At 88" thats a nice size pretty close to 1/5.5 scale, and at 10lbs for the bare airframe it should do well with a 35cc-40cc gasser.
I,d hope to come in at a 16-17lb AUW.

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
Word of mouth , word of mouth... I had a completely unadvertised OV10 show up in our inventory and I showed it off at the Northwest show, and a guy in Florida bought it from word of mouth traveling that far in a few days. Amazing, this networking business. I am afraid the poor fellows who finally get to see the Warbird for the first time when we do put it on the website won't get theirs until later on in the year the way this is going.

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
The following is the followup of the Sig Series Warbirds that KMP will be producing this year, as follow;
The next plane is the FW190 D9 Dora 83"
Supermarine Spitfire 88"
A lot more of the more popular Warbirds as well, Keep checking with us on a regular basis for the progress.
A new release about every 1.5-2months. However logistics allows.

I will have to call Andrew and make him a deal on one of each
Those are all great planes! I would love a 109 or 190.

Amen!! Too many "G"s out there. I prefer the funky nose and boxier wing tips of the Emil to the too smooth and rounded later models as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Spitty, the P-40 and the Zero as well. How 'bout a decent more acurate/scale profile FW190 A8 to go along with that Dora while you're at it?

Hi Taildragger, do you know if the T-28 will be stocked by anyone in Australia? and will the DLE 30 be a suitable power plant?
