Default ESM T-28

Ok guys,
I figured I would start a thread on the ESM T-28. Someone can show there build thread here if thery want.

I want to show what i have done for the cockpit area. The whole top area of the cockpit is made of one large ABS or PETG piece. What they did for this area looks really nice. But the seat area is not deep enough to sit a pilot. This plane is right at 1/6th scale. If you tried to use a 1/6th scale pilot the way it is made you would have to cut the pilot above the waist.

What I have done is to make an insert to allow a full body pilot to be placed into the cokpit area. Due to a bulkhead you would have to remove the feet but you don't see them anyway. I made 2 resin side panels to add detail the the cockpit area. I planned on using the existing instrument panel due to if you try to recess a new instrument panel you would run into the fiberglass body itsself. The good thing about this plane is that the front and rear cockpit are almost identical. I am still working on the joystick...

I got this one in to do a cockpit for it.. I have a buddy of mine that is going to finish it out and he plans on going with a G-26 or G-38. He has both motors. Just waiting to see what kind of weight its going to come in at. It says 18lbs on the box so that means at least 20lbs....

A G-26 will fit totally in the cowl except for thespark plug and boot.. The muffler could even make it into the cowl. I am not sure on the size of the DLE 30. Here are the pic's of the cowl...

I prefer the standard Magneto version myself. One less thing you have to worry about.

Hi Ty,

When will the cockpit kit be available for this plane? I would like to purchase... Also any other parts you are working on for this plane?

Thanks,

Perry

Well here are some pic's of the cockpit almost finished. I should have some ready to ship to Tomas by the end of the week. I currently don't have anything else in the works for this plane. This is about the easiest cockpit I have done to install.. Have the install vid's up soon....

Thanks guys,
I went back and added seat cushions in case someone is not planning on installing pilots. This gives a little more contrast..

Oh I also talked to Darrell at Sierra today. He said the retracts should be out just before Toledo. 2- 3 weeks. I would really wait on the Seirra gear its the only way to go.

No price yet. I would e-mail Tomas about the gear and the cockpit. I 'm sure Tomas is making a list for both. I should be shipping cockpits to Tomas by the end of the week...
